Re: a ? about watts my heater pulls

Look at the plate on the side and calculate Voltage (110 typically) times amps (what ever it says on the plate) gives you watts.

Why does our reddy heater pro155 keep turning off? Fuel is good but when burns a few gallons it shuts off within 15 seconds Where is fuel filter located?

More than likely, the nozzle (small hole where the fuel is sprayed) is clogged and needs to be replaced.

Reddy pro155 with a glowrod, need to know how to adjust air/fuel mixture. Worked fine till I messed with it and now I don't know how to put it back.

You need a pressure guage to connect to the port beside the one you used to adjust the mixture. The pressure you want is listed on the data label of the heater. A pressure guage with a range of 1-15psi is best.

Header just buzzes when you try to start and the blower will not turn ( reddy heater pro155 155,000bdu).

Remove the top half of the tube so that you can see the blower. Try to turn it by hand to see if it is tight. If it is tight, you may be able to oil it a little and get it to spin easier. Another thing to check would be the compressor attached to the back of the motor. There are 3 screws that hold the filter cover on. Remove the filter cover. Next, 6 screws hold the cover on the compressor. Remove that cover also. Inspect the rotor for damage and make sure the 4 fins in the rotor move freely. With the compressor cover removed try turning the fan to see if it turns easy. Be careful not to let the fins fall out of the rotor. Now put the cover back on the compressor and turn the fan again to see if there is any difference from when the cover was removed. If it doesn't turn freely once the cover is reinstalled then the problem is in the compressor and you need to figure out where it is rubbing. If it is in the motor, you will probably need a new motor.

I am using a 160,000 btu unit, and would like to figure out the electrical cost (not factoring kerosne costs) to run as I am using someone else's power. What I am looking for is the wattage used at max...

kilowatts= electric motor rating in horse power X 746 watts X 24 hours X 60 minutes X 60 seconds/1000

1.50 hp X 746/1hp X 24 hours x 3600seconds =

1.5 * 746 * 24*3600 =96681.6 kilowatts/day

Is R155D the same as PRO155 ? If so , fine .... Other than that I`m not sure what else you`d need to know !? It`s real old and needs a set of filters... It fires quickly ... sounds normal ... doesn`t run...

You wrote "Is R155D the same as PRO155 ?" Answer- Yes, The R155D is a pro 155, BUT so are many other 155's and not all use the same technology. The newer ones are computerized, the older ones are not.

Yours, the R155D is computerized and uses HSI (hot surface ignitor) technology.

Filters....part number PP214 (complete filter kit).

Is there a way to override a gas Williams Wall Heater in an electrical outage, (which is electric dependent)?

Get a car battery and a 400 watt inverter. Connect the inverter to the 110 volt connections, you will get heat as long as the batter has juice enough to power the transformer and fan.

Reddy pro155 runs for 3 to 5 seconds

Reply with the correct model number. "Pro 155" designates a series. We need to know whether you have a heater with a spark plug or a heater with an ignitor (glowbar).

Reddy Heater 70 (Kerosene) won't start

In the same temperature range that is giving you trouble, run an ext cord (110v) from a known good household circuit and plug the heater into the cord. If the heater runs OK, then the inverter is your problem.
