Question about Sharp 27C-240 27" TV
Tv dead', tv wont turn on at all
Possible Main Fuse Burnt out.
Plastic Tuning Driver
Insulated Work Surface to put Tv on while under inspection.
Isolation Power Transformer
A) remove Jewlery, maettalic implenets from around hands etc.
B) Make sure TV is disconnected for visual inspection
C) Remove screws from back.
Follow around power cord area, when cord is soldered to board/power supply.
Check for Signs of discolored (discoloured) board.
If Discoloration ,then overheating of components has let too much current , then fuse trips.
Make sure you have Voltmeter for 500vac setting.
Check Mains at Isolation Transformer.
Make sure you only use 1 hand to move the positive (red lead) of the Voltmeter to check for AC voltage at the cord, with the negative (Black lead ) used to return the current, then follow flow of the the power supply.
If this appears complicated, beware it is usually cheaper to bring the TV to a service shop. $20-$30 is far cheaper than a trip to your local hospital.
