Sounds like a defrost problem, if you have frost on the inside back panel in the freezer then you have a defrost problem bad defrost timer/board or defrost heater or defrost bimetal thermostat. check em all.

you have an airflow problem in the freezer. Is something blocking the vent in the freezer compartment? cold air is produced in the freezer section and flows to refrigerated side through air vents. If they are blocked, the air cannot flow from the freezer and it will freeze over. Not a major problem, just move your stuff around.

How long does it stay off? 30 to 60 minutes?? Sounds like the cooling fan is not working or air vents on the unit are blocked.... I saw one unit years ago with this complaint that when the customer turned on the MWO, the fan came on and pulled a curtain covering the pantry up to it, blocking the air flow and causing it to overheat and shut off....

My two year old refrigerator is now at 60F although the freezer is working fine. What could the problem be?

There is a fan the moves air over the coils that remove the heat from the refrigerator. That air has to be distributed between the freezer and the fresh foods section. To accomplish that, a fresh foods temp dial is located inside that section and lets in either more air or less. Make sure that it is set correctly. Make sure nothing blocks the opening that the air is expelled from. That air flow is important to that sections temperature maintenance.

check in the freezer side and look at the back wall and see if there is any build up of frost, your coil may be block, so no air flowing through the coil, your unit may not defrosting, you need to check the defrost heater, the defrost timer or the defrost thermostat one of these part can be defective

Fridge problem

I don't know about the hot points for sure, but all the maytags (I used to work for maytag) have a damper valve in the air tunnel that feeds cold air to the refrigerator. If the damper went bad, it would block cold air flow into the refrigerator. (assuming this model has a damper)
