You need to make sure you have all the drivers for your computer.Go to the manufactures site to get them.If you have all the drivers and it still doesn't detect it,then you might have the network card disabled.

hi,
other computers are working fine in your modem?in that case you need to check if your pc can detect the modem,or you can check if the ethernet driver (for LAN connection) and/or wireless driver (for wifi) are installed correctly...you can check that in the device manager if the drivers are properly installed
if Windows 7 - click start ; on the start search area, type device and the look for device manager
look for network adapters and you will see there you lan and/or wireless adapter

Thanx

I have an emachines t3256 desktop that i just reinstalled windows xp and now i cant get the network adapter to work its onboard and i cant find a driver on their website

Try installing a PCI ehternet card.Turn off the cpu then restart.The cpu will automatically (!?)detect the new hardware and even install the driver(generic).Then there you can get to the internet and get you E-machine drivers.It will also install the driver for your onboard ethernet(NIC) adapter and with that you are good to go.

Emachine NAV51 won't start up. It keeps showing this: Intel UNDI PXE_2.1 (Build 082)_Copyright(c) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation_For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller_V2.0.0.9 (05/08/09)_Check cable...

Long answer:

Your computer tries to "boot" from various devices:
* the 'A:' diskette drive
* the CD-ROM drive
* a bootable image on a USB memory-stick
* via the network-adapter, if there is a "boot-server" somewhere on your local network.

So, enter BIOS SETUP, and check that your disk-drive is one of "enabled" boot devices. Also, check that the disk-drive is "detected" by the BIOS.

If your disk-drive is not connected, or not responding, and there is nothing in the 'A:' drive and nothing in the CD-ROM drive, then the PXE (Pre eXecution Environment) will try to "talk" to a boot-server on your network. If no such server is found, you get the "check cable connection" message, and you are prompted to put some "bootable" media into the 'A:' drive or the CD-ROM drive.

Short answer: your disk-drive has "died". You need to replace it, and to install Windows onto the new disk-drive.

I hope that you recently made a good "backup" of all your data files!

Error 211

When getting error 211, you will need to manually install the drivers for the adapter.

Exit from the error message, then remove the CD and restart your computer.

Plug linksys usb adapter, the computer will detect the adapter.

Right-click on My computer then click properties, go to Hardware > Device Manager.

Under Other Devices, you will see 802.11 g WLAN with an exclamation point. Right-click on it and select Update drivers.

Then insert the CD. (If the installation setup screen appears, just exit it.)

Then on the update driver screen, click browse and select your CD-ROM drive.

Then click finish.

If you are using Win 7, follow the steps from this link.

If you cannot open the link, just go to kb.linksys.com. In the search bar type 20873. Answer title: Error 211 - Installing Driver Manually for network adapters to work in Win7.

I hope this helps!
