SEARS/KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Manufacturers Sears is a department store. They do not build their own appliances. They contract with many different manufacturers to build all of their appliances. This chart will help you determine who actually built your appliance, then you can choose the manufacturer from the charts on this page.
The first 3 digits of the model number determine who built your Sears / Kenmore Unit. This can be helpful if looking for repair or replacement parts.
Your model is manufactured by the following if your units first digits starts with:
Try this: Check your thermal coupler, it should be reading approximately 1080 ohms of resistance at room temperature. If your connection is bad or the coupler is bad this could quickly cause a temperature issue. However if you have replaced this component and still have the same issue it's likely your ERC is bad. You can have this repaired for $99.99 through The Repair Shack. Your control board part is 8301917 which is no longer made. Here is a link to have this part repaired Repair Service For Whirlpool Oven Range Control Board 8301917.
If you would rather replace the board you can use substitute part number W10438751. The cost from The Repair Shack is $325 with free shipping. You may be able to find cheaper elsewhere but we have the part available.
Rhonda,
I would suggest contacting Sears to see if they by chance have an electronic copy of the manual in their archives. I put your model number in on their parts website and it did come up, but they did not show that they had any manuals. I will say that most of the parts were showing up as no longer available, so you might be out of luck on finding a manual. Good luck!
Control panel/computer mother board is bad, needs replace. You can order almost any appliance part online or threw Sears. Write down the model number and type of oven and go from there. They carry countless brands of appliance parts. You'll be amazed at what you'll find at Sears. They'll have it or either have to order it for you. Trace your steps when removing the face panel and follow your wire connections. Relatively quick job. 30-60 min job. Lowes, carries appliance parts you can order as well.
It depends o what kind of smoke. If it is just a burnt food smoke smell there is residue left on the walls that has refused to come off withcleaning and a harder detergent is required, perhaps allowed to soak for a longer time. If it is an electrical smoke smell, there is either a bad connection that is heating up and creating the smell or some wires hare carrying too great a load and are smouldering. Check the first item before looking at the next because that will require you to open the back of the oven to access the wires and contacts.
my kenmore model number 911-47699100 oven doesn't work. Everything except the oven and broil works--cleaning, all timers, start button, etc. All that happens when you push start is about every 30 seconds, two relays can be heard making and breaking kind of like a click then immediately a clack. No error codes appear. Replaced sensor but that didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
