Question about Char-Broil 463220004 Grill

1 Answer

It seems like the gas is not getting to the burners. The flame is barely there and cannot heat the grill enough to cook. We changed tanks even though it seemed much too early for another tank. The new tank was not any better. What should be be checking for. The grill is not even a year old yet. THanks

Not a year old and u have documentation. DO NOT TOUCH ANY FURTHER. Call your Viking authorized servicer and they will fix it for free! If you have no documentation ex. bill of sale, install date, move in date etc., try unplugging the holes with a paper clip to let the gas flow. Did it work before? If not then check ur model # and make sure you have an LP unit and not a NG unit. Your orifices maybe the wrong ones. Anyways, you should call service since you are under the manufactures warranty.

You may have to recheck the tank for full. If you forgot to turn off the tank after the last time you used the grill, the tank could have leaked down. I always keep a spare full tank for just those types of problems. If the tank is full, then the regulator may have a problem. That grill should be able to get over 300 degrees.

This is a typical symptom of a failing LP regulator. Replace the regulator and hose that attaches to the LP tank. When a regulator is failing, it allows enough gas through for the burners to light, but not enough to keep all the burners going at the same level.

My weber genesis silver starts up, but doesn't get hot enough to cook the food. Seems like not enough flame out of either front or back burners. I tried Outting in a full propane tank, but that didn't...

Try these steps in order.
  1. Turn off the gas at the propane tank
  2. Disconnect the gas line from the tank
  3. Open the grill lid
  4. Turn all control valves to high
  5. Wait for about a minute
  6. Turn all control valves to off
  7. Reconnect the gas line to the tank
  8. SLOWLY turn on the gas at the tank
  9. Light the grill normally
  10. Your grill should now heat normally

Inconsistent heat problems Weber Grill

If your propane gas delivery system is equipped with a pressure regulator, check it or replace it. If no regulator, check the following:

* The gas jets for any obstructions, including carbon build up (they can be cleaned with an automotive fuel injector or carburetor cleaner with a lttle help from a brush bristle - do not try and use a drill or other mechanical means)

* The gas connections, and make sure they are all tight

* The gas manifold(s) to be sure they aren't partially obstructed with insect nests, especially cocoons

* The burner(s) to be sure they are clean and that the flame is even

Only enough gas flow for 1 of 3 burners

Shut off the tank and remove it from the grill. open all valves. close all valves. Reconnect tank to cooker and SLOWLY open the valve a hair. Then retry.Something in the dang newer safety tanks cause this phenom.

BBQ will not heat up to cook meat

you had the burners on before you opened the valve on the propane tank.

this causes the safety in the pressure regulator to cut off most of flow, and the highest temp you'll get will be about 200 degrees.

turn off the burners and the tank, then disconnect the tank and let site for a few minutes. reconnect everything, and make sure you open the tank valve before the burner valves.

Gas grill lights but doesn't get very hot

I had this same problem especially when the tank on my 5 burner 2 year-old Kenmore was about half full. The solution above fixed it. I was used to opening the gas fully, turning one burner to high and clicking the button. If I would have read the front of the grill I would have seen that this was incorrect. I turned off the grill completely, unhooked the regulator and reconnected it. With one burner on high I began clicking the button BEFORE I turned on the gas. I slowly turned the gas on one quarter turn and it lit up full flame. I slowly turned the gas another quarter turn and lit the second burner. I slowly opened the gas all the way and lit the third and so on. That did the trick!

KENMORE Gas Grill 141-152210 Kenmore 437 sq. in cooking will only heat to 250 degrees

sudsy, this exact same thing would happen to me every time I changed a tank. I know it's nothing to do with the grill itself. I would have to seat and reseat the regulator hose to the tank a couple of times before it would start heating normally. Your model has 3 burners and I suspect that the flame is real low on each one even on the high setting. Try connecting and disconnecting the tank a couple of times and see if it comes to life. If worse comes to worse you can order a new regulator hose. Part number P3632L. Catriver..post back.
