Question about HP Compaq nc6230 Notebook
After inserting a new SD Card, nothing happens. It is not read or even notice a new device.
Have you tried other sd cards before or is this the first time?
if you have and its just this time it hasent make sure its working in your camera or mp3 player or where ever it came from :-)
if it works have a look in your device manager to make sure there are no problems with the drivers.
2 control pannel
4 then the hardware tab and click the device manager.
if there are anyproblems there is useually a little symbol next to the device just double click on it and have a look for the error code.
if all else fails try reinstaling the driver for your card reader or find an updated drivr download.
hope this helps

SD card reader in my HP Pavilion dv7 stopped working, Cards work in other computers and cameras? How do I check to see if my drivers are installed/valid?

This is a bit of a bummer solution, but i have just been using my 4gb card in my camera and then plugging the camera in via usb to get photos onto my computer. in this way i have been able to use the sd card.
this sucks though because it is a one way operation. i can put files onto the computer from camera, but i can't put files onto the card from the computer.

What is the size of this SD Card? We are beginning to conclude that the Reader in a 6230 can't read a card larger equal or larger than 2GB, we saw the same as this above except if we used smaller (256K and 1GB) cards thet worked fine.
