Well first you should check to make sure that the blades move freely. While the engine is off you can (safely, with a glove) grab one off the blades and see if you can move it freely,(the other two should move as well) By process off elimination you should be able to figure out which blade is giving you trouble. I'm guessing it could be as simple as something wrapped around the blades, to as complex as a bearing has gone bad. If this doesn't take care of your problem you can reply back, being more specific and I'll do what I can to walk you through this. Please rate my answer.

Poulan pro engine dies when blades are engaged

Something may be wrapped around the blade shaft under the mower deck or maybe the shaft bearings are bad.

Mower runs fine turn on blades it will die

MikeMake sure that the blades will turn by hand (key out of switch- unplug the sparkplug wires!!!!) there could be a dirt mound or rock jammed in there. OR-

if you\'re in the seat and the engine dies just as soon as the blades are engaged, the engine may need a tune-up. It sounds like it starves for fuel or air under load.

Mower runs fine.when u turn on blades it will die

There is a switch under the seat made to turn off the engine when the blades are "on". You have to be sitting on the seat to engage the blades. If you are, check to see if that switch is plugged into the harness. If it already is, you probably need a new switch, or less likely, but possible, the harness is damaged somewhere up the line.

Engine dies when Blade is engaged

It sounds like the seat safety switch is the problem. Tilt up the seat and make sure the plug to the seat switch isn't loose or off completely, and that the switch is firmly mounted. If everything seems ok, remove the switch and test it with a multimeter. The circuit between the switch terminals should close when you press in the button. If not, replace it. Good luck!

Blowing fuses

try unplugging the pto, starting the mower and then engaging the blades. If it still blows a fuse the problem lies in the mowers wiring. If not the problem is the pto. Hope this helps
