Question about Kodak Cameras

1 Answer

I have a Kodak DX7590 zoom digital. Bought before I try it out. Yes, I got stuck! I ordered the correct batteries the only thing it will do is, the camers comes on, the zoom comes out and goings right back in turning itself off before you can check anything. What can be done? Can it be fixed and will it cost a lot? Help please!

I don't have time to try that due to it shutting itself off so fast.

Well now I had this problem and i found that the lens was getting stuck, and it was shutting the carera off, first try to help the lens out when you turn it on see if that helps because you dont want to tear into it i did that once and yeh its not fun at all had to break soilders and resoilder connections just to get to the lense and fix the jam, turned out on mine it was a broken pin that holds the lens completly straight in the housing... let me know if this helps you get in on or we can trouble shoot it some more...

i know you said you had the right batteries but i did try to put in some batteries that i just bought one time... parade and dead batteries and all... and well brand new pack of batteries and it would come on and then right off again. i had to go to radio shack and get the rechargable green batteries those are the only ones that i can get to work with the cam hope this helps you out a bit, I would try other batteries just in case you got a bad batch of batteries

How do i remove the battery cover from my kodak easy share dv7590

from this manual:
http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/DX7590/DX75A.HTM

is the following statement:
On the bottom panel of the DX7590 are the metal tripod mount (kudos for the use of metal here), dock jack, and battery compartment. The threaded tripod mount is a little off-center and too close to the battery compartment for quick battery changes while working with a tripod. The battery compartment features a locking, hinged door, which slides to the side to open under spring pressure.

Hello Terry, Sounds like you have answered your own question, it sounds as if the contacts inside the battery box are either corroded or damaged. If you look down inside the battery box you will see three contacts, look close for corrosion or damage.

Just bought this Kodak Easyshare DX7590 used. Radio Shack sold us a 4 GB SD card for it. When we insert it into the camera, it says "Memory card needs formatting". When we try to format it, it...

The 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD slots, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller with the DX7590.

My dx7590 will not power up. It shut off without closing the camera lens. New battery did not solve the problem.

Hello Richard, A new battery is not going to solve your problem, you have an internal malfunction in the DX7590 unit that will require a camera tech to repair. The repair will exceed the value of the camera,my advise would be to sell yours on E-Bay for "parts" and by one like it in perfect working order so you can still use all your accessories.

I have a DX7590 that won't charge the batteries.

Jeff, you didn't verify the type of battery that you have on your camera, is that the KLIC-5000? if yes then still it will not charged on your dock try to charged your camera using the 5V AC adapter. If your camera will not turn on using the 5V AC adapter or will not turn on using your dock it means the camera is defective and not your battery or charger. You can still contact Kodak repair center at 1 800 665 6515 they will handle your issue.

Hi, our kodak dx7590 will start up but a 30seconds

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher). 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera 3. Turn on your camera without the memory card. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty)
