Yes, you can. what you deleted is the entry index which tells where the files located, not the file itself. the system marks the file space as re-usable for any new files. Once the free space is occupied by new files, the deleted files are overwritten.
so the success of recovery depends on what you did after deletion.
the trick to get back deleted pictures is use photo recovery software

In the moment you deleted them from the memory card ..the action is permanent and irreversible...the only way to recover is if you saved 'em on a computer a cd or somewhere else...
