Hello, I worked on a problem like this a few days ago. Your problem is going to be a blockage in the inlet to the drum. To fix this problem find the inlet pipe normally located above the door behid a flap of rubber..push your fingers up there to see if you can feel a blockage..If not your going to have to remove the lid of the machine to access the pipe that leads from the detergent drawer to the tub. Look at the rear top of the machine..You will see three screws....remove them and push back and lift the top panel (lid) now you should be able to access the pipe. Pull the pipe off and clean it out, i suspect you will find a sock blocking the pipe :) If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck! Mike

You have a blockage in the fill hose, probably a bleach lid cap cardboard circle or detergent lid cardboard from the cap, or another foreign object, remove the object by removing the top of the machine, remove screws in back at top slide lid back remove the dispnser by pressing down on tab and pull it all the way out, remove single screw next to dispenser, see if you can remove the tube under the dispenser box attached to the tub, if not remove dispenser box and hose attached at bottom find blockage and re assemble, with a stroke of luck you may be able to remove the object by reaching in where the dispenser tray was.

A fabric softener cap fits perfectly in the tube that goes from the dispenser to the tub...lol,Remove the top (3 screws in the rear)to gain access to the dispenser There are several accessible screws to remove it,clear the tube and you'll be fine

Why would the machine leak out the detergent drawer when filling?

When the machine starts to wash water passes into the detergent dispenser and carries the detergent into the drum, if the detergent outlet is blocked, or resticted, this will cause the water to leak out of the dispenser.

Check the dispenser to see if an accumulated crust of powder is clogging the outlet holes, most dispensers are removable for cleaning, check your machine instructions for details.

Replaced the Pump/Motor now the LD/OB messages are gone, however, now it won't fill the tub and after a little while I get the LF message. Water will run through the detergent and bleach dispensers, but...

LF Error code: LF stands for long fill and occurs when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on.

All washers are designed to operate with a water supply pressure of 20-100 PSI. When the pressure drops below 20 PSI the washer can have the following problems:

* Slow Fill- low water pressure reduces the speed at which water flows into the machine.
o Verify the pressure at all other water sources in the house (i.e. sinks, showers, etc..). If you find other places where the pressure is low, the problem is not with the machine but with the water supply.
* Continuous Fill- The valve may not fully seat under 20 PSI which would allow for a constant flow even when the machine is not supposed to be filling.
o Contact the water company to verify the pressure being supplied to the house.
* dispenser- Needs a minimum amount of pressure to function. May dispense constantly, at the wrong time, or not at all.
o A plumber may need to be consulted if the pressure is found to be too low.

Things you can check :

* Are the Hot and Cold water faucets turned on
* Are the water hoses kinked
o Make sure all the hose are straight and able to flow water
* Are the screen inside the water valve plugged
o Inlet valve should be free of debris and rust.
o Turn off water and remove the inlet hoses from washer.
o Remove any accumulated film or particles.
o Assure rubber washers are in the end of each inlet hose.
o Reinstall hoses, turn on water and check for leaks.

Error codes can be caused by a Power Surge or other electrical anomaly, attempt to return the washer to operation by following the Hard Reset procedure below.

1. Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
2. Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
3. Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the display.
4. Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts

Washing Machine Keeps Filling with Water through Detergent dispen

This machine has a water valve that works on vaccuum from the tub. You will see a small clear hose that runs from the side of the tub up to this valve. This valve is adjustable to change the water level in the tub to desired setting on some machines, but if it goes bad, it will not shut off, thus overflowing the tub. Find this valve and replace it if adjustment does not work.

As the washer is filling with water, it overflows out of the dispenser area. it appears that the water is not getting into the machine quick enough as the dispenser fills with water.

hi there......this problem is usually caused by a build up of detergent in the hose leading from the soa disenser into the wash tub....remove the soap dispenser....check for accumulated detergent under the drawer....and in the top of the fill hose....easy removed with a little patience and warm water....

Water leaking

There is a small plastic "gate" that is left down for liquid detergent and moved back and up for powder detergent. If this piece is left down and powder detergent is used, the water leaks and the detergent won't go into the washer properly.

LG Front Loading Washer overflows at detergent dispenser

you mean where you put the regular HE soap in? That slot is normal to overflow. The water carries the soap down (Lift the little doohickie up, it's removable for powder deterg.), and it carries it all the way to the tub...Unless i don't get it...but I'm reading the phrase "Its like the water will not go down to the tub.", and it makes me think the whole tray is overfilling with water..if this is the case, I can't help you, but filling over of the Main HE Soap tray is normal. (Just a little, if the whole thing starts filling uncontrollably, hit the power button.)
