Usually when you see the pink that means the back lighting is starting to have problems. It can be the bulbs or the power supply. The odd time it can be overheating due to dust buildup on the inside. If it starts and stays pink then you can rule out the dust unfortunately.

You should check to see if you have any warranty first. Repair costs will be about $80-$150 so you may want to look at replacement costs. Normally I'd look at repairs but Optiquests do not have a good quality reputation and the company itself is pretty miserable to deal with so if the price is close look at a new one (from someone else). It's a shame though as they were one of the best at one time and still have a great picture quality.

Not much you can do. I would recommend just buying a nice affordable general brand LCD monitor. Don't go to best buy or some place that specializes in that, you can get it cheaper at wal mart or k mart. possibly sears or Sam's Club

Screen is white

Hello,

This type of problem is usually caused by a failure of the power supply board. The power supply puts out 5v and 12v to the electronics. If the power supply 5v side fails then the electronics does not get the right power but the back lights do so you get a white screen and no picture. The audio electronics are powered by a different power output. Here is a link to a repair guide for the Q19w that shows how to dis-assemble the unit and then which capacitors need to be replaced to revive the unit.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Viewsonic Optiquest Q19wb lcd Monitor goes blank after 2 secs. A couple of posts say replace the 1000uf 16v Cap My problem is i can't find them on the pcb (where are they?)

Look at the board where the AC power connector comes in that is the power supply board, there are more than one versions so it nay not have the same caps value.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Viewsonic/Optiquest monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Q19wb Monitor Replacement Part Numbers Needed

Look on eBay for "Optiquest Q19wb repair" or "Optiquest Q19wb power"

This is a common failure mode. You can either buy a set of capacitors and solder them in, or buy a replacement power supply board if you cannot solder.

One eBay seller notes the power board as an ILPI-025, which is common among the following models:

Power Board ILPI-025 For LG W1934S & Viewsonic VG1930WM & Optiquest Q19WB & Acer AL1916W Ab etc

This happened to me and I was able to fix it. I cracked it opened and found a bad capacitor, bought a replacement at Radio Shack and I'm back in business. Actually using it right now to post this.
