Check the fuel lines for cracks/breaks. If they are o.k., then:

You will need to disassemble the carburetor and spray with carb.cleaner.Make sure the small screen is free of debris. (Should be able to see daylight through it.)

Use a Den Tek Brush, (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=165357&catid=1152),to clean the small portals in carb. These portals can become blocked. Reassemble and start.

If the carb. parts are more than 4 years old, you may have to replace them.

If you need further assistance on:
1. Fuel line replacement or
2. Carburetor kit replacement

Just let me know.

Trimmer runs but will not cut?

Is this gas or electric?
Sometimes if the trimmer cord is too long, the engine does not have enough power to spin it fast enough to allow it to cut.

Mcculloch petrol strimmer

Agnes take of the cutting head again and see if it runs at full speed without it. If it does you have either put the head on too tight or it's the wrong head.

New Ryobi trimmer putters out at full throttle

Absolutely it can. Weight can slow it down, Friction can slow it down,. There are many things that will do exactly what you are talking but the #1 thing would be a Gummed up Carburator. EVERYONE is having the same problems right now.

Strimmer starts and runs but cuts out when at full power

Easiest place to look first would be to see if one of the fuel hoses has split. May be hard to see but that would cause it to **** air instead of fuel. Eventually, the split or hole would become so big that it wouldn't stay running at all, and probably not even start. If that doesn't do it, make sure the fuel you have is still good and try running a little Seafoam with the fuel and see if it clears up. After that, I would be looking at carefully cleaning the carburetor which may require dis-assembly as well as new gaskets etc.

Whilst cutting my hedge, inadvertently, I allowed my trimmer to run out of fuel. I refilled it and when I tried to start it, the engine spluttered then stopped and I have been unable, susequently, to start...

The fuel line probably has become air locked .Keep pressing the primer bulb if the trimmer has one and also repeatedly try to pull start the machine with the choke on. Eventually the air should be flushed from the line.

My whipper snipper starts well but has no power to

Battery is NO GOOD.... need new ones, these quickly go bad, if not religiously charged and discharged. You must charge a long time when first get them, and then as soon as flat must go back on charger, for at least 4hours... regardless what is said. If ever removed before properly charged, then it will "remain" at that level, next charge and so on... All batteries MUST be flat before recharge, and full before used again, no exceptions.

Ryobi 25cc grass timmer, cuts out when full throttle applied

Are you running a gas/oil mix? If you are try making sure you didnt add too much oil (will usually smoke) and will possibly stall. Your air fuel mixture may be off and need adjusting too.
