Question about Nintendo 64 Console

New, second hand Nintendo 64

I just bought a nintendo 64 off ebay. It came with two cables, one power cable, and the other has an antenna plug, which I have plugged into the TV, and the antenna into that. When I turn the TV on, the AV screens are blue, and the tv channels are fuzzy. As the system came without manuals, I am not sure I have it plugged in right, and really, what channel I should be putting the TV on.
Help me pleaseeee!!!
Thanks Claudia :)

    Thanks Bob from LI,

The cable from the N64 console is called the Multi out connector, but on the cable that came with my unit, it has a small box setup with an antenna in and out plug. Is this best to go into the TV or the VCR?

Go direct to the TV, Claudia. You should get a pretty good picture from all components. Occasionally, the boxes fail. Radio Shack used to stock replacements.

Claudia,

Not sure what you're actually connecting. First, if you have a switch unit, the antenna or your regular cable go into one side and the game in the other...it connects to the TV. If that's not what's going on...you've got to fix that up. Your local electronics store or Radio Shack can help with the right one. Most units use channels 2, 3 or 4 as set on the tv...not a cable box. There may be a small switch with some of those numbers located on the bottom of the unit so that you can switch to a channel not used for broadcast in your area.

Its the actual connector piece. The coaxile connectors (the ones you plug into the antenna port on the tv suck) you need to get a rca connector cable (the one with the red, white, and yellow) yellow is video the mose important one. the red and white doesnt matter if you mix them up

I bought a new AV cable for my nintendo 64 off ebay and when i plugged it in the brightness of my games were really bright

Well it could be because HDTV was not made the time N64 cameout so you would have to use a blue plug for it to work instead of the traditional av cables.

How do I connect a Nintendo 64 games system to a Hitachi TV?

Hi kdg 1026,
The wire from the Nintendo should have 3 plugs on the end. Yellow, Whit and Red.
OPn the baqck of the TV you have inputs that are color coded, Yellow, White and Red.
Plug the wires into the color coded inputs.
Turn on Nintendo. Press input button on your TV remote until you get the picture.
Let me know if this helps.

You will have to buy a new cable... there really isnt a fix for a/v cables. with shipping and handling they are like 6 bucks on ebay... Im sure you can also find them at a local electronics store... maybe not quite as cheap though..... sorry there isnt a fix for this... but this is definately the solution :D ... Good luck :D.... Please rate well! :) if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask!

Set up of the nintendo 64 console.

There is a big empty space on the back with a small plug on the inside. There should be a "power brick" that slides in there and then plugs into the wall.

I have purchased the av cable you need on ebay. There are plenty of them available, most have pics of the cable. You need a rectanglular plug with three RCA jacks to connect to your tv. Unless you have an older tv, that will only accept the regular tv antenna connector. Then you will need an RF adapter. Have seen these on ebay also.

Hope this helps.
