You put the belt around the drum and THROUGH the tensioner. Pull the tensioner toward the motor and put the belt onto the motor pulley. Release the tensioner.

Replace belt whirlpool dryer WED7500VW

remove the front panel on the dryer, get the old belt and take it and the model number into your local shop to get the proper belt, put the new belt around the drum with the groves towards the drum, replace the front panel. on the lower part section of the dryer on the back there will be a panel you remove it see the motor, reach in and place the belt around the pulley on the motor then carefully force the tension idler down towards the floor till you can place the lower section of the belt into the pulley on the tension idler and release the idler. you can now run the dryer, as the drum turns the belt will place itself. hope this helps.

How to put belt back on drum on my dryer

You have to take the back off of the dryer and see the motor pully and the idler pully. slip the belt around the drum, around the mototr pully and usind a flat blade putty knife, work the belt over the idler pully so that it puts tension on the belt. you may have to loosen the idler pully housing bolts, but try it first with working it over the idler as that was set for optimum tension.

Changing dryer belt on kirkland/whirlpool dryer took apart dryer but dont see where belt suppose to mount.

Hello. The belt goes around the tub and the tension pulley. In fact, it is always a good idea to replace both the belt and the idler/tension pulley at the same time. J.

If you want a schematic go to searsdirect.com and enter your model number. J.

How to reinstall Idler Pulley and belt for kenmore Dryer Model 110.66112501

First, assuming you have the drum out, there are two slots on the bottom plate of the dryer, hook the end of the idler pulley into the left slot with the angle as you look at it up and to the left. as you set the pulley in place the second slot will match the prongs of the idler pulley. With the idler in place, now put your belt around the drum (you should see a polished spot where the original belt rode and wore off the paint). Then use the belt to help guide the drum install. Set the drum on the rollers in back, keeping the drum level to the dryer. It helps if the whole dryer is tipped back against a wall at about a 45 degree angle to get the drum in place, but that makes your aligning the belt a pain at the same time. I suggest have the dryer at an angle to put the drum in then place it level to align the belt.

You'll need to use both hands to get the belt in place. First thread the belt under the idler pulley wheel in the opening under it. Next you'll need to push the idler wheel as far up and to the right as you can to get the tension all the way off as you hook the belt around the motor. Once on the motor, slowly let the idler down into place.

If everything is aligned correctly it will work just fine. Just make sure when you put the bulkhead in again that the drum rides on top of the slider pads and that the drum rotates freely with only the motor tension on it. 839edf2.jpge839dbf.jpg

Belt drum replacement

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured dryer (which inlcudes Kenmore, Roper, Estate, Kitchenaid, and Frigidaire), just follow these steps:

a. Loop the drive belt around the dryer drum with the groove side facing the drum. (Try to line the belt up with the wear marks already on the drum from the previous belt).

b. With the tensioner in your left hand, insert the clip end of the idler pulley into the grooves on the dryer bottom casing with the idler wheel pointing to your left. (The grooves are directly in front of the drive motor.)

c. While holding the tensioner in place, insert the belt UNDER the wheel with your right hand and pull it up and over the drive motor pulley.

If this does not explain it well enough, you can also verify by going to repairclinic.com. Click on the Repair Help link and look for the "Dryer Belt Diagrams" link under the Special Features section on the next page. Look for Whirlpool and locate diagram H.

NOTE: It is normal for the idler pulley to come loose when there is no belt tension.

If your dryer is not manufactured by Whirlpool, or if you simply aren't sure, please post back with your model number so I can give you more accurate information. I hope you find this helpful.

Dryer belt has come off tensioner.

The idler pulley fits in the slots on the bottom of the cabinet (in front of the motor) with the wheel or glide facing the left side. Place the belt (grooves inward) around the drum. Pull the belt through the middle of the idler pulley from the left side. Once the belt is pulled through the idler pulley, loop it around the motor pulley (this should force the idler pulley to "open up" and add tension).
With the belt and idler pulley in place, it should look like this...

KENMORE SERIES 80 DRYER..The Tensioner use it or not and how?

To fit the new belt, you will need the idler pulley (tensioner)...

The idler pulley fits in the slots on the bottom of the cabinet (in front of the motor) with the wheel or glide facing the left side. Place the belt (grooves inward) around the drum. Pull the belt through the middle of the idler pulley from the left side. Once the belt is pulled through the idler pulley, pull it around the motor pulley (this should force the idler pulley to "open up" and add tension).

If you still need help, I will try to provide you with a diagram shortly.
Good luck!

Need a btlt route so i can put the new drum back in my ge profile

route the belt around the drum, pull the spring loaded idler pulley to the postion that requires you to hold it there..
put the belt : 1 through the motor pulley and around the idler pulley, or 2. around the idler pulley which ever works to keep the tensioner tight. (Idler pulley, tensioner same thing its the pulley not on the motor.
Once you put the belt on the durm, pull the idler pull so there is tension on it it should be clear how it goes.
