I have a Canon Pixma MP470 and my scan control option is in the solution menu with the import option.
Try this: click start, click all programs, choose CanonScanning - 2.gif utilities, choose solution menu, slide right and click on solution menu, your screen should show scan/import option, click on scan/import and chose scan. I hope this is helpful, Good Luck.

When i try to use scan mode it wont scan

Try a different USB port. If you have it plugged into the back of the pc, move it to the front, or vice versa.

Reinstalled drivers from Canon website still no go but you can go to Control Panel, select "Scanners and Cameras" and you should see your Canon scanner there. You can scan from there and use the scanning wizard.

You can try using ACDSee Pro to import image from scanner. It works ! or you can try other softwares too !

How to scan using a hp deskjet F2235 printer???please help me...

In order to use the scanning feature you would need to install the drivers and other software that comes with the printer. If you haven't install either, please visit http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3571755
and download the drivers for your operating system. It should come with some sort of imaging suite that would allow you to scan documents and save them to the computer.

Scanning to a word doc so i can edit the doc

You need to buy or download OCR software to your computer. The scanner doesn't control that, the only way to get a word document from a scan is to "read" the document with OCR software.

Scanning

As with most scanners, place the document in the scanner for scanning. Open the software that you wish to use. Select "File" from the menu and then "Import". Your scanner interface listing should appear. Click on the device to begin your import from your scanner. Your scanner should scan the document and it will appear in your application. Be advised, Scanners scan in a Graphic format. To edit in a wordprocessor you will need some kind of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Software to convert the graphics into a wordable form for editing.

Not scanning full page

You omitted some details which might help diagnose the problem. For example, are you using the document feeder or the flatbed? Anyway, I'll take a guess here.

Check your paper size setting and make sure it matches the sheet you are scanning. (Letter, A4, Legal, etc.)

If this is not it, then try scanning from both flatbed and feeder and see if results vary. Note that when you use the feeder, scanning is done in a smaller window to the left of the flatbed, so make sure that is clean.

Problem using OCR with Canon MP610 all-in-one

I got this message too, before I installed an OCR program. It may be that you need to install one (or specify it, if you have one already). With my MP610, an installation disk was included that contained the OmniPage SE program for OCR. When I installed that on my computer, and told MP Navigator (another Canon-supplied program, that controls scanning) to use it as the "Open With" program for OCR, it worked.

Scanning with MP780

If you are using Win XP open control panel/ scanners and printers. It will list the 780. Place the document or photo on the platen glass, then choose which option you need, doc, photo etc.. click preview to see the item, them click next. you'll choose where to scan to/ next scans the image and stores it where you told it. Hope this helps
