Question about GE MiniCam Pro HO98067 Webcam

1 Answer

GE mini wireless (HO98763) mouse won't work - power light not on.

I purchased A GE mini wireless (HO98763) mouse last week. Installed the batteries, plugged the USB receiver in - everything worked perfectly from the start. Two days later, I noticed my mouse wasn't responding. I found that the LED was no longer red, so assumed that the power was off. Pulling the receiver out for a time and returning it solved the problem for a while. This happened twice. Then the power didn't return at all.

I took this to mean that the batteries had died. Earlier today I purchased replacement batteries and some rechargeable batteries. Neither disposable or rechargeable had any effect. I've tried pressing the connect switch on the USB receiver to no avail. Rebooting hasn't helped.

The rapid loss of functionality resulting in complete inoperability tells me that there may be a short. So it may mean that while I was futzing with the USB reciver, the power came back on its own and the problem has nothing to do with the receiver. There is no on/off switch on this mouse that I can locate.

I'm not an expert and certainly don't think myself to be. Perhaps someone out there can give me a hand? Much appreciated.

My advice is to return mouse to store and get a replacement, remember to take bill with you as proof of purchase. If the same fault happens again you could ask for money back. It is technically possible to ask for money back staright away as this rapid falure shows that the itme is "not fit for purpose". Hope this helps.

SOURCE: help wit mini cam

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and install the software program you downloaded. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: people cannot see me on cam

every application when it connects to the internet, it uses "ports" , now if the port that the messenger is trying to use for the "cam" is blocked , you basically experience that kinda problem. first disable your firewall (try windows first, then any other firewall (like norton, mcafee or other), also check with your Router or Modem (if DSL) but usually these ports are open by default, but you never know sometimes untill you check it. but your best bet is the firewall that is blocking your port for the cam.
disabling the firewall is the easy solutions, opening the ports is the longer one. of help on opening ports on you DSL modem OR router (or both), check this site
good luck

Did you try pushing the link button on the bottom of the mouse (right after pushing the connect switch on the receiver?)

Wireless mouses never made much sense to me since you have to be right at the computer to use them. I've had so many repair visits when the battery is dead just when you need it most to work. Save yourself the trouble and buy wired mouse.

I had all the same problems listed in fixit and found that all it took was placing all NEW batteries in the mouse.
Press the blue light button on the USB and the little black reset button on the bottom of the mouse at the same time. Worked good from there on.
