Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-V32XBR1 32 in. LCD HDTV

1 Answer

No sound on random channels

We bought a new Sanyo HDTV. It worked fine for 2 weeks. Then my husband got around to hooking up the DVD and VCR. The next time we turned it on, 5 random channels did not have sound (like it is muted, but it isn't). I am not sure if it is coincidental or not. One of the channels has a radio station coming in for the sound, the other 4 are just mute. Picture's fine. Cable connection. Thanks.

It sounds like you have SAP enabled. Refer to your manual or on screen menu to verify that it is disabled.

How do I hook up my dvd/vcr to the tv

On the back of the cinavision you have two groups of sockets. The yellow socket under Video out is picture. Red and white is sound. Connect them to the TV's yellow red white sockets marked Video In 1. This connection will give you picture and sound from either the VCR or the DVD deck.

There's a better picture quality available for DVDs only from the Component video out sockets (green red blue). Next to them is another set of audio sockets (red white). Connect all five sockets to the TV's input number 2. The colours match up. The picture from Component will be clearer and sharper.

On your Sharp TV remote, select Video 1 to watch VCR, and Video 2 to watch DVDs.

Bought new samsung dvd/vcr. have an older admiral tv with just a cable hole. this is the second tv on a dish network, so this tv only has a cable, the box is in the living room. so how do I hook this...

The easiest way to make it work is to:
1- run your cable into your new VCR to CATV IN.

2-Your VCR should have come with a short length of cable. Connect it from the OUT jack to the TV.

3- Set the TV to either channel 3 or 4- you need to check the VCR manual to see which channel you have to use. Some VCR's have a small switch labeled "channel select"- if so, set it and your TV to the same channel... your choice.

4- Leave your TV on the channel you set above all the time. You will now change your channels using your VCR. You will be able to record whatever you are watching.

Sanyo plasma hd tv 50 inch screen i am trying to hook up my granddaughters wii on our sanyo plasma hdtv cannot get it to show up in color on imput 2 or 3 video imputs. we have a dvd/vcr on video 1 imput...

Hi, take out the dvd player from port 1 and try the Wii in port 2 or 3 if the picture is good on the wii then you will need to get a 1 way scart lead for the DVD, not a fully populated one as these can cause interference between video inputs.

Hope this helps

My Regza digital TV has problems with reception. Several channels are perfect, but others keep breaking up and freezing both audio and visual. Other stations have no signal at all. My husband as a result...

I have the same problem with not much help from the store where i brought my TV from, they sell their items but as to good old after sales service it is non exsistant unless you are buying. They suggested it was the co-axial cable and also said the most likely factor is if you have a VCR connected then each time you want to watch TV take the aerial out of the VCR and put it directly into the TV, good one if you want to record on the VCR, this doesnt help the problem. Same you, I am still stuck with reception problems. By the way I have a 42' digital in the Loungeroom with VCR, DVD, Surround Sound all hooked up (& to same aerial on roof) with no reception problems, the one I am having trouble with is small digital TV in bedroom (room is next to loungeroom). I am on the Gold Coast in good reception area. Wonder if anyone has found a solution yet.

Tv not responding to remote

This may sound silly but does the remote have a funtion button or buttons at the top of the remote? It may be set to operate a DVD or VCR instead of the TV.

Failing that check the batteries, it is very rate that your TV will stop accepting IR signals.

Hope this helps,

DVD/VCR hook up to HDTV. No audio on DVD or VCR, no video on VCR

When you use component audio, it may shut off the side a/v audio settings. Try restoring all defualts (any changes you have made will be lost by doing so) according to p. 32 of the manual:
Menu --> Setup --> Reset --> Yes

RCA tv

Check the signal type. It may be set incorrectly. Change the channel. You may be on a blank channel. Check to see if the TV is tuned to channel 3 or 4 if you are watching a videotape. Check the TV/VCR button on the VCR is in the correct mode by pressing the TV/VCR button on your VCR.
