There is problem in my samsung 21 Ultra Slim Flat TV. there is no picture but only sound when connected to satellite receiver with AV cable. why is this??

You need to be more specific . There are usually three types of "A/V" cables. There is the HDMI cable. One cable many wires inside and the same plugs at either end. There is component. This has 5 RCA plugs at each end. They are color coded so you dont mess them up. However, there are 2 red ones. One of the red ones is paired with a white one and carries the left and right audio. The other, red video. The last type is the old style and there are 3 cables - red white and yellow. Yellow is the video and the red and white are left and right audio. The easiest way to prove what is bat is by substitution. Swap receivers, and cables is one way, or use a DVR with the same connectors. Oh and does your tv's audio work at all? (Dont have it muted and or the volume all the way down. or a headphone in the headphone jack). One way to test the audio cable plus TV is just unplug the component audio cable from the receiver and touch the center pin with your finger with the volume way up. SHould here a hum if its a good cable and tv's input. One way to sub for the tv audio is to patch the satellite audio out to an audio in of an audio sytem like an FM receiver. If its good into that system and flunks the hum test, your tv is suspect. Have fun.

Rca 42in full hd lcd picture flickers

If the picture on your TV flickers, there may be a simple fix. Here are some possible answers and suggested solutions:

1. Your set-top box may need a simple reboot. Unplug the power connection to the set-top box for about 30 seconds. Reconnect the power and turn the set-top box back on.

2. Check all of your cables for a loose connection by tightening each one with your fingers.Flickers can sometimes be caused by bends in rigid cables, too.

3. If your picture flickers to a black or blue screen, you could have a bad set-top box. Contact your cable or satellite service provider about installing a new one.

4. If you still have audio, the flickering could also mean that you have a failing backlight.

For additional troubleshooting information, check out the chart at TV flickering for more solutions. I hope this helps!

Vertical line flashes on tv screen

Picture problems are surely among the most common technical issues experienced by home TV viewers. Such problems may manifest themselves as pixelization or frozen pictures, intermittently flashing pictures on one or more channels, static or audio degradation, or channels that are missing altogether. To address these problems, you can always contact the technical support department of your cable TV provider and have them walk you through troubleshooting steps, but it is wise to learn how to fix problems like this on your own without consulting any outside help. Doing so can save you lots of valuable time and money in the long run.

1.Reset your cable TV equipment by unplugging the power cords of any digital cable boxes/DVRs you use in the home. Count a full 30 seconds and plug the equipment back in. After allowing the device enough time to complete its boot cycle, check the picture again for any improvement. A cable box in need of a reset is by far one of the most common causes of many different picture degradations, so this is a necessary first step.
2.Check the audio/video connection cable or cables that attach your cable service equipment to your TV. Loose or malfunctioning cables are also a very common cause of picture degradation. Secure any cables that may have come loose and replace any visibly damaged cables. If you think the cables may be failing, you can temporarily test them by plugging another audio/video connection cable from the cable equipment to the TV and checking for any improvement.
3.Scan through your entire channel lineup as well as all the input channels on your TV. This will help determine the scope of the problem and how to most effectively troubleshoot the issue further. If you see the vertical lines on only one or a few cable channels, the issue is much more likely with the broadcaster or your cable provider, and you will need to report the issue to your provider. If you see the vertical lines on all channels and all video inputs, it is more likely that the TV's picture components are beginning to fail, and you will need to have the TV serviced or replaced altogether. Thanks for using FixYa, hope this will help your problem.

No Video for my cable tv. Audio works

You have the TV connected to the cable box with an HDMI cable, I'll bet. The problem is with the cable box. If you unplug the cable box and plug it back it it will reboot and proabably work. You should connect the cable box to the TV using component cables and you won't have this problem again.
