Is the frezzing occurring at the very bottom of the freezer or at the top? if its at the bottom inside only then you have a clogged defrost drain, remove the food in the unit to expose the rear panel in the inside back remove the panel chip away the ice at the bottom careful not to hit the coils, clear the pan at the bottom of ice and pour boiling water into the drain and sometimes poking a long skinny object like a piece of hanger down the tube gently only an inch or so, helps. once the water flows freely your clear, on a side note once your done clearing the drain, pull out the unit and remove the back panel at the bottom inspect the drain tube make sure it is connected, you can clean up some of the water in the drain pan, but be careful of the condensor fan. put everything back where it was and your all done :)

What is the problem when an air conditioner begins to freeze up?

Freezing up is caused by
•dirty air filter or evaporator coil(indoor coil)
•dirty blower wheel or blower fan blades
•low freon
•weak or slow blower motor
If air filter and indoor coil are clean may be low on freon. Blower wheels seldom get dirty on window units. Pull unit from window and clean both coils with a water hose. Careful not to get any electrical wet. Let dry for a while and reinstall. If it continues to freeze its a freon problem most the time.

Why won't outside fan turn off

the contactor is probably stuck shut you can check to see if it is its the big black thing that has all your power coming in and going out to unit to run fan and compressor. If it doesn't shut off and your inside unit does then it will freeze the lines and coil and water will drip when it starts to thaw out.

Cold water line frozen going into washing machine

If you can find the frozen section and it is easily visible, you should try to defrost it with a hair dryer. The problem will be finding it. It is likely behind sheetrock. If that is the case, then just raise the thermostat and keep the door open to allow for circulation of air in the room to defrost it. Something else you can do if you have an area sensitive to freezing in the house, is find a faucet near the washer and let the water run just a little (drip) to keep the water moving during deep frosts.

The water dispenser keeps freezing. The Ice Maker is fine. This is happening everyday.; We thaw it out and then is does it again. Fridge is set at 37 and freezer is a 5

if this is a side by side frige the water tube that runs inside freezor door pulls away from insulation causing it to have no insulation between the freezor and the tube alot of then you can thaw one time and there fine. disconnecting the water line at bottom of frige behind toe kickin front and usually is a push in an d release tab connectors or plastic threaded nuts blowing air through can use air compressor not at full blast works great and then once you have it flowing run gallions if possible though to make sure no water deposits no debrie to slow water down to give more chance to freeze oh and if it hasa filter make sure its update and replaced this will help also if still problem persists may need new door they foam insullat these things at the factory cant just move it or put more insulation inside door , door are spending too

Water inside refrigerator

Even though it doesn't seem like it's coming from your freezer, morre than likely that's where it's coming from. At the back of the fridge there will be a drip tray that actually catches the water from the thawing freeze. One way to avoid access water is to simply turn down your freezer and fridge. Usually if they are number 0-10, both frigde and freezer should be set on the 5 level.

Food freezing in refrigerator and water dripping

The problem with the water is that the drain tube is plugged. The easiest way to fix this and to save money is to unplugg the refrigerator and leave the doors open all day. This will thaw out the drain tube without a service technician coming out. That will fix that problem. With it freezing the food on the where its not supposed, This may be a bad cold control. But try unplugging the unit for a day with the doors open and this may fix both problems. (i know it will fix the water issue)

Frige has water dripping in from freezer

Hi, Check the door seal.

Ice is often caused by warm, moist air getting into the freezer and condensating, then freezing.

if the drain line is frozen or clogged then you have to remove the back freezer panel and with a hair dryer at the bttom of the evaperator coil thaw the ice that is built up in the evaperator pan ouce you have it thawed you can pour water into the evaperator pan and it will run into the drainpan if you pour water into the pan and it does not run into the pan keep thawing
