You will need a food grade, high temperature epoxy. Different types are available at the big hardware stores. Don't use low temp or non food grade, you could end up in the hospitel. Don't use any type of silicon.

There are a bunch of appliance parts websites that heve the sealant you need. Just look under Espresso Machine parts. The brand isn't critical.

Expobar leaking steam

Where is it leaking steam from? If it is from the porta-filter, you need to replace the group head gasket, which is done with something like a screwdriver to get it out.

We have an Expobar Office Control (Pulser) and while the machine pumps water it is not heating it and the red LED stays on. Any advice?

Hi
If its pumping water its not the thermal fuse. Its probably the heating element. If it starts to build pressure but stops, its your vacuum breaker. It could also be your CPU is bad. Need a little more information to get a better handle on it.

How can I increase the pressure for the steam wand?

If boiler pressure is set to about 1.2 bar on machine and you are getting no steam then check the nozzle on the steam wand, that might be blocked, before adjusting the pressure stat in the machine.

Water not filling into boiler from reservoir

Many posibilities for your problem. The two main posibilities are:
1. The boiler water level sensor it might be dirty or full of scale, need to be removed and cleaned.
2. The water in solenoid valve might be blocked from dirt or scale so must be cleaned

Can't get expobar office lever to start pumping water into boiler

You are right, there is no flange.Under the tank reservoir there is a switch (micro) if you lift the reservoir up you should hear the switch click on and off,.Sometimes the switch will hang up and stop the pump from coming on.Try that and let me know.

Thanks,
Sanremo

Francis francis x5 not heating at all

David-    While this may not be the answer you're hoping for, I have a suggestion. I own a FrancisFrancis X5 that seems to be operating slowly. I just ran some of the de-scaler through and now I can't get the water to express through an empty filter basket fast enough to empty the resevoir or to put out clear water. The de-scaler is blue and combined with the residual coffee and who-knows-what that's in the boiler, the water was coming through a putrid green. After several minutes of trying to fill and empty a shot glass (so I could monitor the color of the water being expressed) the machine simply stopped. I'm guessing a safety feature of the boiler may be when it over heats it shuts down.
My suggestion: go to www.wholelattelove.com and buy an Expobar Office Pulser. It is the machine that I wish I had bought before all the hundreds and hundreds I spent on crappy machines. I do not work for Whole Latte Love or Expobar, but I have owned at least a dozen or more machines over the last 15 years or so and they all lacked some critical aspect of the expresso experience. My wife and I make lattes every morning (at least 4) and then more on the weekends and when we have guests. This Expobar has never failed me and we've owned it for more than two years. It's so good, I wish I could ship it to where we vacation and then back home, because NO ONE makes a latte better than I do with the Expobar.
