Question about GE Profile 26.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Dispenser TFX27PRBWW

1 Answer

The water to the ice maker continues to drip then freezes up.

I have a GE Profile Refrif. Model PSC25MSWA. The water comes into the freezer then into a little tray, before running down into the ice trays. The water is freezing up in this little tray. I'm assuming that the water isn't shutting off all the way and each few drips freeze then fill up the little tray with ice, which won't allow the water to make it into the ice trys. There is also a loud noise too. I'd like to try to tackle this myself, before calling out the professionals. I appreciate any input.

The loud noise is from the water freezing and hitting the fan blade in the freezer, is the imkr level? have you replace the filter if has one? is it hooked to an R/O water drinking system? if so remove the filter in frig. last thing to do if others questions ok if the shutoff to that water line going to frig is on the bottom of the pipe shut all the way off then turn back on if you have a dispenser and water is really slow to come out this may clear up the low water pressure. If on most units if you do not have appx 35psi it will not allow the valve inside the watervalve to seat and allows water to dribble by

How to remove ice maker on ge profile pfss6pkwbss

You would first have to distinguish between if the tray has a crack in it or if the water valve is not closeing which would mean you would need a new water valve. Most all ice makers are held to the freezer wall by 3 1/4" screws you would unscrew these screws and unplug the power connector and remove the ice maker from the unit. Fill the ice tray with water and see if you do have a crack in the tray which is not as common as a water valve allowing to much water to go into the ice tray makeing it overflow. If you have any further questions message me back I await your reply.
Thank you,
Rick

Ice tray not filling

Open your freezer and remove the ice bin. You will see the mechanism and the tray that fills with water to make the cubes. On the left there should be a rocker switch that turns the ice maker on and off with a green light that tells you if its on or not, under the ice cobe tray there is a small paddle that should move, give it a wiggle. On the right you will see the wire for the ice maker, make sure that it is plugged in. Once the icemaker starts working (little green light comes on) you should have ice within 24 hours. You may need to remove the ice bin and a
small plastic louvered cover above it.

Hope this helps.

GE Profile Fridge Model No. PSC25MSWA SS not making ice

Check to see if there is any obstruction (object of any kind) in the ice cube mold area. If nothing found, you will have to replace the icemaker, as individual repair parts are not available.
