Question about Apple MacBook 13"White /2.0Ghz Intel Core2 Duo White/2GB (2x1gb)/80GB/SuperDrive (Z0DT) Mac Notebook
It's an odd sounding problem, but try this. Close all the running programs so that you are just in the Finder. Open the Applications folder on the HD and locate the Utilities folder. In there is a small application called Disk Utility. Launch it and then select your HD on the panel at the left hand side - it might say Toshiba, Hitachi, Fujitsu or something like that. Then in the main panel select the tab that says "First Aid"
At the bottom of that main panel are four buttons, 2 of them may be greyed out. Select the one at the bottom left, "Repair Disk Permissions"
Go and have a coffee while it does its stuff (it could take anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes).
At the end it will say that it has completed. It may give up a message or 2 to the effect that some items have been modified and could not be repaired - don't worry - it 's a glitch that doesn't matter.
Now quit the program and restart the MacBook. Is the problem still there?
