The video capture hardware is a webcam.
If your Eee came with a webcam, enable it in the bios.Press F2 at bootup to get into the BIOS and look around for the webcam.

gud luck

Can i record a video on A4tech PK-635 Web Cam

Yes you can. You can either use the webcam's included software amcap or you can also use Windows Movie Maker.

To do this, follow these steps:
  • Go to your Windows Movie Maker Movie Tasks and then select "Capture from Video Device".
  • Select webcam from the list of analog devices.
  • You must also select the video input line you want to use for capturing your webcam video.
  • Then enter a name for your captured video file and the location of the drive where you want to save it.
  • Select your video setting preferences for the video you want to capture.
  • To stop capturing, you can either choose to stop anywhere during the recording session or indicate a specific time limit before the recording stops.

Hope these steps help. Goodluck!

I dont know how to install my new lifecam !

Set Up and Use the VX-3000 personal web camera
  • 1 Install the software using the included CD and plug the LifeCam into a free USB port. For desktop use, place the LifeCam on a clear spot on your desk that's free of other objects, including cables. The camera should not be more than an arm's length away from you. For LCD (or similar object) use, push the center part of the camera's base upward, place the camera on the LCD and close the base around the monitor to secure it.
  • 2 Open the device software by clicking the Microsoft LifeCam icon on your Windows desktop. If no such icon exists on your Windows desktop, click "Start," click "All Programs" and locate the Microsoft LifeCam program in the list of programs there. After launching the LifeCam program, look at the image that appears. If necessary, adjust the camera to more precisely reflect your appearance. For best results, try to center the camera image on your head and shoulders.
  • 3 Click the video camera icon on the bottom panel of the LifeCam program to begin video capture. Video will begin recording, and you will see a "Recording Video" message beneath the live video image. To stop recording, press the same icon (the icon will have a red square with a blue background during recording).
  • 4 To begin audio capture, click the microphone icon on the bottom panel. To stop the audio recording, click the same icon (again, it will have a red square with a blue background during recording). To snap a photo, click the camera icon on the bottom panel.
  • 5 Access any of your captured video, audio or image files by clicking the folder on the bottom panel. The VX-3000 also provides the ability to edit video or image files using supported software. After snapping a photo or capturing video, click the "Edit" icon that appears beneath the thumbnail of the captured content.

My camera is not coming on...my sister did something a while to deactivate the camera and not i'm going away and i want to be able to skype my friends from my laptop and i don't know how to make my camera...

Try to go to device manager and under hardware you will see if the camera is installed or not.Try to enable the device or else the simplest solution is to remove the device from control panel>uninstall a software. Then once removed, restart system and re-install a fresh driver software for this camera..This should solve your problem..

1394 firewire port is not capturing any video

It may just need to be re installed to get it running again, go to my computer icon, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and look down the harware list for IEE1394 firewire, if there are no '!' mark or 'red X' then right click on it and delete. Restart your pc and it will auto install again. Try capturing video again.

    Not Capturing Sound

If you can hear the sound while capturing, it's probably not a hardware problem. First - the obvious - go to your Volume icon in your systray (lower right hand corner). Right click on the icon. Then click on adjust audio properties. That will open a window that will show playback and recording volumes. Make sure they are both at least half way. If it is, make sure that the software and drivers you're using are all updates. If they are, you may be using a corrupt codec or for some reason it is not used correctly. Try completely uninstalling the application, manually deleting the registry entries and configuration files, and reinstalling the application from scratch. Good luck.
