Tried firmware.mi4 by following the instruction from Sandisk below, but It didn't work.
This is for use in Recovery Mode.

    To access Recovery Mode:
-Make sure the player is off (if necessary, hold down the power button
for 20 seconds to turn it off)
-Move the hold switch to ON (move to the right towards the record
    button).
    -Hold the record button.
-Connect the player to the computer.
-Keep holding the record button till the "new hardware is ready for
    use"
comes up, then realease the record button.

Now you should have a 16MB drive in My Computer. Simply download the 2

attached files, then put them onto the 16MB drive (via drag-and-drop,
    or
    copy-and-paste).

Once that's done, turn off the hold switch, then unplug the player.
Check if the issue is now resolved.

Recovery mode

to switch to recovery mode flick the switch on the top towards the headphone jack (so you see the orange), then hold down the REC button on the side, and plug into you computer. KEEP IT HELD DOWN UNTIL THE PLAYER IS RECOGNIZED! the player will be recognized by dif name. you are now in recovery mode.

What i suggest you do is to look at this video on how to format your player...all data on it will be erased (like songs and videos) but it will be worth it!

NOTE: these are for when the player is in MSC mode
For Windows XP

For Windows Vista

I did this for my player and now it works fine!!!
