Re: Flash drive is not showing or responding when plugged...

How many drive letter you have on your system?
make sure your drive is inside the usb port. I assume you are running windows system. Right click on my computer, click manage, then click disk management. Can you see your flash drive there, right click over it and assign a drive letter and thats it, you should see it.
disconnect any f drives which you have by simply right clicking and disconnect, your flash drive should show you right away.
Install any drivers which came with the drive and you should see it.

Hope that helped!

Flash drives do not need a drivers (plug and play). There are several possibilities:

Solution: insert a flash drive into another USB port. If the USB port 1 is not detected, insert flash drive into a USB 2, USB 3 or USB 4.
2. Assumption: normal USB ports, computer driver error, a normal flash drive
Solution: reinstall the chipset drivers, or USB.
3. Assumption: normal USB port,
computer driver normal, flash drive is broken
Solution: try to insert the flash drive into another computer. If the flash drive is not detected, it means your flash drive is damaged.

Solution to determine the cause of damage:

First you need to figure out what is wrong. Is the USB drive bad, the ports not responding or what?

If the drive works on another computer, then we check the computer. 1) Are the ports turned off for power savings (look for the Screen Saver, then the Advanced settings)) or security (check the device manager in Windows). Check that the right drivers are loaded. If auto-run is disabled for USB ports, a similar effect can be seen. Check if the drive shows up in the File Explorer. Try different ports on the computer and see if the connection is tight (if the drive wiggles in the port, good contact is missing).

I hope this helps.

(if the drive doesn't work in any computer, it may have failed. If it is under warranty, you can get it replaced. However getting the data off it will not be covered by the warranty.)

OK, don't worry.. It will all work Out-of-the-box, The instruction are simple. Unpack, Pluc in to a USB port, software will detect and install necessary drivers... then ya good to go. Simply treat it as another drive... Cut, copy, Paste.. If you want you can install any software from the manufacturer, that may have come with the unit.

I plug in the sundisk cruzer 2.0 GB USB device and all it does is blink. It will not show up on my computer for the drive.

If the computer recognize that there is a device plugged into the system, then just try to plug the flashdrive into another port at the back of your case.

If the computer does not recognize that there is a device plugged in, there is a problem with your flash drive. It still gets power from the computer(Bliking light), but there is no data transfer between computer and flash drive.

If it is still under warrenty, send the flash in for repairs(presuming that your USB ports work), otherwise try and see if it works on a other computer. If it does, the the problem is with the USB ports on your computer. I really hope this can be of help.

Best regards

Printer won't work because I plugged into it a SanDisk.

I was told to unplug it, since the printer would not respond. That worked! It reset itself when I plugged it back in and turned it on. Thank you.
