Bread machine - clunking noise when mixing

I have a Westbend Baker's Choice Plus II bread machine. When it is mixing the dough with the 2 paddles at the bottom, there is a loud clunking noise like something is loose. Can you suggest a part that needs to be replaced?

Hi,
In order to point you in the right direction I would need an actual model number of your bread maker. Here is a link to the West Bend replacement parts page. There is an link there for support. Hopefully this will give you the hep you need.

When do you take out knead bar

The knead bar or paddle is taken out after the bread is finished baking and the loaf is removed from the bread pan.

Need 2 dual blades for Westbend model 41089

I have this machine.

The paddles, bread pan, and motor drive belt are available.

The best place to buy the blades (paddles) is from West Bend:

My West Bend Homestyle Plus bread machine makes clunking sounds when it mixes the dough. The paddles are in correctly, but seem loose on the spindles. I hadn't used my machine in quite some time (years)....

like you, I pulled my bread machine out after several years. It clunked loudly for the first few loaves and then it settled down. It's still louder than I remember, but it seems to work fine. I try to be home whenever I use it, as I don't completely trust it. Otherwise the loaves are turning out amazingly well!

On Westbend Bakers Choice one of the paddles is binding up. Dont see any way to lubricate or take apart to clean inside. Is there something I am missing?

Hi, You are not missing anything. The sealed bearing is starting to fail. Eventually the paddle will freeze up and you will need a new bread pan. Sorry Hank
