leave it on, so that the battery dies out.........plug up to PC, if Itunes come up check for new updates for iphone 3G........ this should reset it NOTE do not just pull the USB plug out release the IPHONE fron the PC (on Itunes eject the device)
This may be the case if you jailbroke your iPhone and it was a tethered jailbreak. You may need to rejailbreak it again depending on the version of your iPhone if you can still remember it. Most of the time, redsn0w can help your iPhone go back to its jailbreak mode again. You can search at iClarified.com for more details about booting up your tethered iPhone. If you're not jailbroken, then it is a different scenario. Can you try to plug it in your computer and see if it'll be detected in iTunes. If it was detected in iTunes, you can try to check if your iPhone can get out of the Apple logo screen by putting it on DFU mode (hold both home and power buttons for 10 seconds then release power button and continue holding home button until it's detected by iTunes). After it was detected by iTunes, you can try to hard reset it to see if it'll boot up normally and go back to the slide to unlock screen. Hard reset means pushing both home and power buttons until you see the Apple logo. If all else fails, put it again in DFU mode and then just restore it in iTunes.
Hi, is the sim card your using a 3G and not 2G, this will stop it activating. Have you tried doing a full reset of the phone in SETTINGS> GENERAL> and then at the very bottom you see RESET choose RESET ALL SETTINGS, Make sure your contacts are backed up 1st... Let me know.. Mark
Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it.
To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears
