Question about Sun Pure SP-20 Air Purifier

1 Answer

I paid yesterdAY and I bought a new fuse but that doesn't make it turn on. If the air filters are taken out should the machine still turn on if the back is off? Or do I have to put everything back together to try to turn it on?

What are you talking about--this is not a water purifyer--this is an air cleaner with a hepa filter and a pre filter and an ultraviolet light. I have no idea what a floater switch is

There may be a switch that opens when you remove the filter, but I have never seen one that had one. If you can give me the make and model number of the unit, I can be alot more help.

There is not a switch that cut unit off when filter is removed. The only switch that is line with the motor other than the on/off is the float switch. It turns the unit off when the tank if full of water. It would also not let unit run if it were tilted over enough that the float switch was in the full position. You have replaced the fuse. Now make sure the unit is sitting upright, look at the float switch and be sure it's in the down position. Turn the unit on, the unit should now run unless you have so other problem. I show that there is nothing else in the line between the motor and the switch other than these. Switch, fuse, float switch, fan motor.

Sorry. I found it. Here is your answer. Both the top and front grill have safety interlocks that will turn the unit off if removed while in operation. If either grill is not properly closed the unit will not operate. Make sure the top grill is completely snapped into place and the front grill is completely secured at the bottom before turning the unit on again.

Air purifier filter smells bad

That's interesting... I doubt it is the filter if the new filter did the same. It might help if you take a fan and blow it through the area behind the filter, or maybe even spraying some Lysol in it, because my best guess is that something inside the purifier is what is causing the smell. Hope this helps!

Alpine Air XL-15 Air Purifier - never taken out of box - won't turn on whatsoever. Plate is accurately placed and the rear filter is properly fitted.

Is the fuse in properly? Try popping it out and put it back in, also check it when it is out..just to be redundant since you did it already. push on the bottom of the filter the switch pushes in . I at pushed down my first time.

There is a fuse in where the AC cord plugs into the purifier. Remove the back cover, and you should be able to remove the fuse by prying the fuse cover off with at straight screwdriver. It takes a 1.6 amp fuse for 120Volts

The plate is going bad. Sometimes it's just a bad part of the plate that has corrosion under it, try turning the plate and sliding in again. Sometimes that's all it needs. Sometimes it just needs to be brushed well, cleaned, and then blow-dried.

Yesterday, I purchased a new RCI filter and replaced it and the light of the new filter does not light when turned on and the machine says replace RCI filter as it did when it quit working..Thanks.

Perhaps, the tab on the filter frame, that triggers the safety switch is not making contact. Remove the filter and reinstall the filter. Make sure you push the tab firmly into the trigger slot. That should solve your problem. Please let me know.

I have no power to my Fresh Air by Ecoquest. I've taken it apart and all connections seem to be in place. Still nothing when pushing the reset or power buttons. Any advice?

Remove the filter on the back. On the outer edge of the filter frame, you will see a plastic tab. This tab is a safety switch and if it's not making proper contact with the trigger of the unit, it will not power up. Push the tab section of the filter frame snugly in first and then the remainder of the filter frame. That should solve your problem. It that doesn't solve the problem, check for a blown fuse, The fuse holder is on the back of the unit.

I lost neutral on the electrical service and my cleaner no longer works, i changed the fuse that had blown, but when i turned the filter on it simply blew the new fuse

Blowing a new fuse would indicate that there is some component of the machine which was damaged. The fuse is a safety device which keeps electricity from flowing through defective wiring.

You can visually inspect the machine to see if there are any wires, connections, or components that appear to be damaged, burned, loose, or broken. The plates need to be perfect, without cracks, burned spots, loose mucilage, broken screens, etc. The contact fingers should be screwed firmly in place, and they should press firmly against the screen part of the plate.

If you can detect and then repair any of the above defects, and if the machine still blows the fuse, you can assume that the problem is deeper in the machine and it needs professional help! Unfortunately, Vollara (formerly EcoQuest) no longer makes or repairs the Flair. You can contact Vollara customer service 800-989-2299 to locate a dealer in your area; they may have another machine or know where you could get one. They may also know of someone who could repair it for you.

I'm 79 yrs old. I think I got taken advantage of by a fast talking salesman and paid way too much for my Defender air cleaner. I didn't get a manual, and i don't know how or when to change the filter....

Schedule: Remember, to receive the full benefit from your Defender® , replace your filters regularly. • Every 6 months, replace your Enviropure® Charcoal Filter. • Once a year (for Perpetual Warranty*)/up to every 3 years (depending on usage), replace your Medi-Filter® Cartridge.

i am a low voltage tech my wife told me that our 506840 air cleaner stopped working so being a tech geek i had to know why it just stopped working.when plugged in i heard a click telling me that the main board was getting power.opened the back end where power cord goes to put my meter and voltage was going to the main power coil. but the main board was oxidized. when my wife was cleaning the filters and might not have had the filters completely dried the water was dripping down to main board.the unit to main power source is not design very well where water from cleaning the filters can drip down to main power board.solution i am working on is trying to get a new board when we bought this it was $499.00
