Re: stove

Electric or gas? Is it clean and not lined with foil? If gas, does the flame all look blue along the burner length? If electric, how many elements are there? Do they all glow in the area where you expect them to when the unit is heating? Where are they? Answering these questions should lead to a solution.

Oven only heats to 215 degrees will not get any hotter.

Sounds like the heat sensor is bad. I'm assuming this is an electric oven. On the inside back wall of the oven you will see a metal rod sticking out. Unplug the stove, take off the back cover and you'll see where it's attached. Unscrew the keeper and pull it out through the back. Unplug it from the wiring harness.

My Maytag stove. I know it's normal to feel heat from the vent on the stove top when the oven is on. But the temp of the heat escaping is sooo much hotter than it used to be. Do I need a fix ? Model...

The heat from your vent should be a little lower than what the oven is set at. So I doubt if you have a problem but you might want to take some temperature measurements to see.

Oven heats to about 250 and doesn't get any hotter, stove burners work fine.

Very likely you have a faulty oven sensor, and need to replace it. They are not very expensive, and are easy to replace. The oven sensor monitors the oven temp, and "tells" the element when to cycle.

Oven hotter at the back

You should always preheat oven to operating temperature before cooking anything.
Do not put too much in oven, leave plenty af space for good air circulation.
Do not place any reflective foil or the like on the bottom of oven or shelves, as this reflects heat, and you will get uneven cooking.
Make sure fan is working efficiently if it is fan assisted.

Stoves 720ef top oven warms but does not reach high temps. element replaced - no fix. thermostat ok as heating light cycles on and off at around 120 deg C, but reluctant to get hotter.

Have the same problem. Went and bought an oven thermometer from Lakeland and found that when the top oven thermostat was set to 160, the temperature only got to 140. I did clean the sensor inside the oven using a cleaner from Lakeland which did improve matters but it is still running cooler that it should. ( It takes at least 20 to 30 mins to warm up)

Oven bakes unevenly and burns food

When foods are burned, soggy, or baked unevenly, it generally means heat isn't being distributed evenly throughout the oven, its escaping out the door or the controls are out of adjustment. 1) Remove any aluminum foil from racks or the bottom of the oven. 2) Check the door gasket and, if necessary, have it replaced. 3) Be sure nothing is obstructing the vent. 4) Reposition the oven racks so baking pans aren't too close to the heat sources. 5) Check your baking pans. If they're dark, they may be burning your food. Reduce temperature by 25 degrees F when baking in dark metal or glass pans. 6) Recalibrate the controls.
