ok super thats a real good battery. testing the starters easy, follow the big heavy red cable from the starter solenoid to the starter. have a helper try to crank and check for 12v+ at the post on the base of the starter. if you got it, its toast. if not, than you have a safety switch or module issue or the solenoid is failing internally and not transferring the amperage needed to crank it. if found to be the starter have some one try to crank why you gently TAP with a small hammer on the outside of the case and alota time theyll go for another time or two. now the starters are pricey, if your felling brave take it off and take the end bell off. be reeady there is 4 spring loaded brushes in there that are gona fly if your not carful... it any of the 4 are wore down or the braided end supplying the brush is burnt away or loose than you can buy a set of brushes and springs from the lawn and garden store, theyll need the engine numbers, and save some money. if all looks well than armature is burnt internally and we cant fix at home. so, do brushes if can and polish up the armature where the brushes ride and put her together. put brushes in holder, push all the way in against the springs and make 4 short wires to wedge in front of the brushes from the outside in to hold them while you install the end bell. good luck let me know if you need more assist

Before going into the starter, I would check the solenoid. If by chance you have a remote starter button you can connect it to the 2 main terminals of the solenoid or you can use one side of a pair of jumper cables (red or black makes no difference as long as it is the same one. Connect one clamp on one of the main terminals on the solenoid then touch the other end on the other terminal (preferably on the eye terminal of the cable if possible) be prepared for a spark. If your starter cranks doing this, replace the solenoid.
Tapping on the starter with a hammer is a tricky proposition at best, the magnets inside the starter break real easy

Now you are describing 2 different problems... If you have nothing I doubt the battery is dead but would check for a safety switch problem. If it clicks or turns over slowly then we need to be looking at a bad connection or other issues... Please describe your problem better to let us help you solve it

Electric blade clutch won't work and battery went dead

If you have a new battery and it went dead that quickly I would check the charging system on the mower engine. Many of them use a voltage regulator and if it goes bad it will not properly charge the battery. Get the engine running (do not engage the PTO) and use a multimeter set on DC voltage. Place the multimeter leads on the battery and you should see approximately 13-14 volts DC at the battery terminals when it is running. If less then that then it's a problem with the charging system and further tests would be needed to figure out if it is a bad regulator or charging coil.

The starter solenoid sounds to be bad. Follow the + cable from the starter and it will lead to the solenoid. This is usually about $10. The battery produces power to the solenoid which then produces power to kick the starter over. The clicking is the contacts in the solenoid you are hearing.

Guages when crazy. Now won't even try to start.

You likely have it repaired by now but it sounds like a classic case of oxidized battery or cable connection (sometimes mis-diagnosed as bad battery but cured with new (clean) battery)
