When I click on cancel and then on "yes" the printing job continues. Sometimes I want to stop in the middle of the job because I have gotten all that I want printed.

The printer has a buffer which stores data from the computer as it's printing, and even after you cancel a job the printer will keep going until it uses up that data. If you've printed all you need, you can shut off the printer. This will cause Windows to tell you about the communication error, and you can cancel the job then. When you turn the printer back on, the buffer is clear and it won't print anything else until the next job.

Error code 0051930 49.bb28 Printer prints old jobs even when it says no jobs stored. I have turn off the printer, unpluged the printer and it is slow or much later or not at all print the job requsted.

A critical firmware error has occurred that caused the processor on the formatter to abort operation. This type of error can be caused by invalid print commands, corrupt data, or invalid operations.
In some cases, electrical noise in the cable can corrupt data during transmission to the printer.
Other causes include poor-quality parallel cables, poor-connections, or home-grown programs.
On rare occasions, the formatter is at fault, which is usually indicated by a 79 Service Error.

1. Turn the printer off then on.

2. Press Stop to clear the print job from the printer memory.

3. Turn the printer off then on.

4. Try printing a job from a different software program. If the job prints, go back to the first program and try printing a different file. If the message displays only with a certain software program or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.

5. If the message persists with different software programs and print jobs, disconnect all of the cables to the printer that connect it to the network or computer.

6. Turn the printer off.

7. Remove all memory DIMMs or third party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM.)

8. Remove all EIO (JetDirect Cards) devices from the printer.

*Remember to protect from ESD

9. Turn the printer on.

10. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time, making sure to turn the printer off and on again as you install each device.

1. unable to store job at printer. 2. Insufficient disk space for this job. 3. Delete some files from the disk before resending this job

That is actually telling you that your computer doesn't have enough free space to store the print data before it sends it to the printer. Under accessories run the clean disk utility and try to free up some space. As well you can empty your recycle bin and from your web browser clean out your cache. Those will usually do the trick. You can also cause this is you are trying to print at some real super high settings that aren't needed. The printer might do it but you may not need it or even be able to see the difference past a certain quality.

Need to print a report of past print jobs

If you have CentreWare IS you can do the following (taken from the manual):
You can find the manual link here: http://www.office.xerox.com/userdoc/P6250/6250_Web/pdfs/reference_guide.pdf

On page 97 of the manual it states:

Using Printer Management Features

Job Accounting

The printer stores information about print jobs in a log file. The log file is stored either in the
printer’s memory or on an optional hard disk if one is installed in the printer. If the log file is
stored in the printer’s memory, it is lost when the printer is reset. It is recommended that a hard
disk be used for job accounting.

The log file lists job records. Each record contains fields such as user name, job name, pages
printed, job times, and toner and ink used. Not all fields are supported by all printers. For
information go to CentreWare IS online help or CentreWare Web online help.

The job accounting values reported vary depending on the protocol and print command used
when each job was printed. For example, using NPRINT over NetWare provides the printer
with the most information about the job being printed. When using Windows and NetWare, the
job name is often LST: or LST:BANNER. Other jobs from other ports may provide less
information about the job.

Job accounting is available through CentreWare IS and CentreWare Web.
Using CentreWare IS

1. Launch your web browser.
2. Enter your printer's IP address in the browser’s Address field (http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx).
3. On the right side of the main CentreWare IS page, click Jobs.

The “Job Accounting Links” page provides links that enable you to browse, download, and
clear job accounting records.

For complete information on CentreWare IS job accounting, including clearing job
information, downloading job information to a file, and job accounting file formats, go to
CentreWare IS Online Help.

Hope this helps!

Hp 2420 prints a ''job storage status page'' after each print job

If you have your software driver or print job set to save your print jobs to the printer and your printer does not support this, you will get that error and status page. Here is what the User's manual says about print job storage:
"The printer supports two distinct job-storage features that you can use to initiate printing from the printer control panel after the print job is sent from the computer:
● Proof and hold jobs
● Private jobs
Make sure that you identify your jobs in the printer driver before printing. Using default names might override previous jobs that have the same default name or cause the job to be deleted.

The job-storage features require 48 MB of RAM. For printer models that have less than 48 MB of RAM, you can add memory so that they can support the features."
