Question about Canon MF4100

Canon mf4100 series ufrii lt printing problem

Lately my printer shows "Error" everytime I print something. If I want to print a 6 page document, for example, it will only print the first page then stop after the first page and the red error light will begin flashing. The screen tells me that I need to "load the correct paper cassette: A4"-- but the paper is already loaded (I don't know where A4 is). The screen also says "resume: ok"; "cancel: sys.monitor". If I press the "system monitor" button nothing happens. If I press "ok" it prints the first page again then error flashes. This continues to happen from then on every time I press "ok". I want to print all 6 pages of my document without seeing the "error" light flashing.

go to control panel then hardware then printers right click on the mf4100 then on properties youll not that the page size needs to be set for "letter" then next line tells the printer what size paper the next pages will be select "match page size" you have A$ currently this is an eurpoean size close to letter but not correct. save your settings problem solved.

i have the same situation and my printer set to A4, but I can't reset the printer itself - it shows legal and I can't reset it to letter. so, do you know how to reset printer to factory settings?

No printing on Mac OS 10.5.1

Check under the Apple site for this issue. I use Leopard and can copy and print with this machine. I have not tried the fax, however, I assume  it will work. The scanner does NOT work with Apple...at least yet...I am not sure if it is Apple or Canon or both who are at issue for this. As per the post below, the duplex works just fine for me. You may want to consider the possibility of removing the current drivers and reload the one's currently posted by Canon.

I figured out how to make duplex printing on the MF4150 work! Canon Tech support says that duplex printing is not supported, but they are mistaken.
Here is what you need to do:
1. go to the Canon site and download the latest UFRII driver (v1.5) and install it
2. in the application, go to page setup and select "Format For:" MF4100 Series [this was what I did not realize]
3. then, when you go to print, select the finishing tab, and then select 2-sided printing.
If you skip step 2, and you application defaults to "format for any printer," the 2-sided option will be greyed out. Other printer drivers do not require this, but the Canon driver does.
