I dont seem to have any cyan colour coming through. i have cleaned the print head and put in a new ink cartridge. its an mx1 printer. any solution

There is usually a nozzle check routine listed next to print head cleaning. Run that and if you see no cyan, then after what else you have done I'd say the print head has failed. It is almost always not worth trying to fix that, buy a new one.

BTW did you see the current stories about HP disabling the use of generic cartridges?

I like myself the Epson XP-420, it takes generic cartridges.

maybe the cartridge is wrong, release it and clean the electrical contacts, put them again one by one, if notting happen, try this
Solution As the printer operates, it moves ink from the ink cartridges into a printhead reservoir. The printer does not deliver a message when an ink cartridge goes empty, because it still has ink in the reservoir. The printer continues printing until the ink level in the reservoir falls to a first trigger point - then a message appears advising the printer owner to Replace Cartridges Soon . At this point, other cartridges that are empty but have not reached the trigger point are also mentioned in the message, to save trips to the retailer. After the first trigger point, the printer can continue printing until ink levels in the reservoir reach a second trigger point. At the second trigger point there is only enough ink left to perform vital servicing tasks, and a new message appears, saying Ink Cartridges Empty . The options offered depend on the usable inks remaining. If no options are offered, the cartridges indicated must be replaced before printing can continue. The Ink Cartridges Empty options are described in the table below: Ink colors out Option Print mode possible All Cancel None Black

AND

Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all) Black only Continue with other colors Cyan/Magenta/Yellow mode (composite black)

Text and photo quality will differ from those printed when all colors are available Light Cyan or Light Magenta (either or both) Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow (any or all)

(Black still available) Print with black ink only Grayscale

Hello my 7590 printer will not print in cyan

The chances are you have a defective cyan ink cartridge. If you are using an aftermarket/reloaded cartridge and the cartridge chip is defective. First try a new cartridge. The best bet is a new OEM cartridge, run the deep cleaning utility 3 times. The nozzle may be clogged and this will clean the nozzle.
Aftermarket/reloaded cartridges ink do not always meet the specifications for the printers that use the finer inks.
Let me know if this works for you. Thanks.

My office jet L7590 printer suddenly quit on me. It keeps playing a message that says the printhead has a problem

Did you let one of your inks run dry? If so, you need to replace the effected printhead. This model has two, one for black and yellow, and a second for cyan and magenta. If you let the yellow run dry but have tons of black, it still effects the black/yellow printhead. Same with the other, either color going dry makes its printhead go bad. Either printhead will set you back about $75. Easy to remove and replace once you get the new printhead.

Bottom line with this model of printer...DON'T let you inks run dry. A new ink cartridge is $20 vs. $75 for a new printhead.

FYI - This is the most common mistake/problem with this printer. The Inkheads are built to last at least 40,000 prints. That's several years for most of us, that is unless you let the inks run dry.

I have a Hp Office Jet Pro L7590 All In One. The blue ink will not work. I have replaced it and tried to clean it. Can I buy a new cartridge holder???? It works great other than that. HELP!!!!!!

Check the cyan ink supply line for air bubbles. These printers work off negative pressure between the print head and the ink supply. If there are bubbles in the line the negative pressure is disrupted and ink cannot flow through the print head.

Cyan ink won't print

Dear Sir/madam,

My recipe for print head cleaning:

1. Soak the print head in distilled water until it is very clear. Use a small plastic container that did not contain any chemicals in it before procedure. Single use containers should be used.
2. Leave the head in distilled water solution for 24hrs. Make sure water level covers ink inlet ports too.
3. Change distilled water in the container and heat it to degrees 40-50C. Too hot can damage the dead so make sure to not overheat the water. When the water is ready submerge the head into the container for 15mins or so. Make at least 4 cleaning cycles this way.
4. Put a coffee filter on the table, underneath the coffee filter put 3 - 4 sheets of paper towel to absorb the cleaning solution.
5. Put the print head on the coffee filter and get some soda straws (they are ideal for ink ports on pixma printers) remove rubber padding around ink ports on the print head by using some instrument as tweezers. Recommended way is to submerge the head into distilled water because rubber padding can be removed easily without friction in water. Now when you are ready connect each soda straw to every ink port.
6. Make a cleaning solution by using few drops of ammonia solution and distilled water. For example 2ml of ammonia and 19ml of water in a 20ml syringe. Mix the solution by shaking the syringe.
7. Fill the soda straws with cleaning solution. If you get air pockets in the straws use another 20ml syringe to connect and force air trough the straws until there are no more air pockets and solution level is decreasing in the straws. Take some patience the method is slow but well worth it. The solution should decrease faster as more nozzles are cleared. Don’t hesitate to use the empty syringe to force some air trough the nozzles if you get air stuck when filling the straws.
8. Finish the cleaning by injecting pure distilled water and by submerging the print head into distilled water for 15mins. Then blow the ports with air using a syringe with a soda straw.
9. Clean the gold contacts on the head with some isopropyl alcohol and then immediately install into printer and perform 2 to 5 cleaning cycles or some deep cleaning to prime the head, and then print some purge pages. Now you can print nozzle check to see how well the cleaning unclogged the nozzles.

MP830 Cyan Ink won't print

I have fixed the problem with my MP830 not printing black. It was the print head. I took the print head out and noticed that the black was clogged.

Apparently as the print head uses such fine jets to get the quality levels up, it seems to be quite common for the print head to become clogged.

There are many ways of unclogging the print head, allot of people I read about used alcohol type liquids to clean with, but I was able to get mine unclogged using warm water, a syringe and some good quality paper towel.

Its a tedious process, but you have to unclog all the dried out ink out of the print head. Some people suggested soaking the print head over-night in water or alcohol, but I was too impatient for this method.

There are two small screws which I undid, this allows the print head to come apart and give you better access to clean. using warm water in a syringe(large needle and body-the type used for re-filling cartridges) squirt water into the offending color hole. you should be able to see all the dried ink comming out.

The paper towel is used to bleed the water and ink through the printhead slots.

If anyone is interested in the method which worked for me, feel free to drop me an email and I can offer some more details, maybe would be easier with a few pics too.

I am outta time, kind of hard to explain in a few paragraphs.

My printer was 2 weeks out of warranty when I did this, there was no way I was going to pay a cent more for a new print head thats for sure.

Use this method at your own risk.
