Question about Dacor CM24P

1 Answer

Dacor coffee maker

I have had 3 uniits as well. the first worked great for 6 months then was in the shop several times. 6 moths after that they finally agreed to replace it. It took 3 months for the replacement to arrive. The day they put it in it leaked inside my cabinet. I called Dacor and they wanted to send a repair man. I was furious and finally got they to agree to replace it not try and fix it. 3 months later i got a new one. This current machine works ok, has not leaked and makes good coffee but the milk frother does not make froth.
I get a lot of steam and no milk. If i hold the milk glass up above the machine it will work.
I have tried taking off the pinch tube thumb screw; increasing steam temp ;decreasing steam temp;closing the air valve inside the unit on the door.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the club of unhappy Dacor coffee machine owners. The problem you are having is the problem everyone has had. The only thing I can suggest that has worked most often for me is not leaving the machine on for very long. I think the temperature gets messed up if it is left on too long. I just use mine now for a few cups in the am and then I turn it off. I've been so frustrated with it that I have gone back to my french press. One of the posters on this site actually got Dacor to buy her machine back. I will probably try that route as well. She replaced it with a Meile and is very happy with it. Good luck!

Dacor has a set up on their web site (see link below) that lets you enter your information (eg. postal code) and then looks up the closest repair/ parts places. Note if you want parts check the box that says you're looking for parts.

SOURCE: My Krups XP4050 frother heats and makes bubbles but no froth

It doesn't froth because the air hole in the frother has become plugged with dried milk (cream). There are two types of frother - old one was a black rubber nipple with a stainless 2-3inch air tube rising above the milk. The plastic insert has a pin hole (really about the size of a straight pin!) that clogs. Use a sewing needle or straight pin to clear it.

Cuisinart coffee pot

his EXACT situation happened to me 2 days ago because it gets clogged. Flush and dump clear HOT water threw the tank several times. When I did this, clumps of coffee came out and the coffee maker worked great again. In hindsight..it was my bad because the manufacturers say to run a clear vinegar flush threw them once every 6 months, followed by 2-3 clear water flushes to remove these "clots" that plug it up. Hope this info is not too late and you didn\'t throw your machine out. :)

Red light comes on but coffee doesn't brew

If there is a thin water line in your coffee maker, then it can get clogged or could have mineral build up. Keurig coffee maker, you are going to want to descale it every 6 months. Calcium can build up.You need to run a large cup of white vinegar through coffee maker lines. When you run vinegar through there, the coffee will taste nasty, so I would run water in there several times, after the vinegar finishes. Run through until does not taste nasty anymore. Yeah, I do this with my coffee pot 3 times a year. You judge how often you should.
Good luck.

Sometimes you have to do the decalcification two or three times. Then, monthly after that.

Cuisinart Coffeemaker Decalcification Process

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.

I have a CM24P that had the power supply short out and I have decided not to repair due to the high cost of replacement parts. I have decided to part my unit out. Send part requests to Rick at pittsburgh.stillers@gmail.com.

This unit was in service for about 6 months.

A clean coffee maker is essential to good coffee. Residue of stale coffee oils will interfere the brewing that caused 2-3 cups only produced. It is suggest regular cleaning of your coffee maker according to manufacturer recommendation.
I took everything out, got a small piece of fine sandpaper, held the plunger in with a pencil, turned on the grinder and sanded the round top portion of the grind basket driver. It takes a few times to get a good snug fit that’s still easy to remove.
The instruction manual that came with the pot will tell you to use one cup (measuring cup) of "white vinegar" and fill the rest of the reservoir with regular water. Turn it on and let it perk the mixture through the system. Then perk a couple of pots of plain water to flush out the rest of the vinegar.
The books say to do this once a month to keep things clean and the coffee tasting great.
A professional machine that is plumbed into a water supply must be thoroughly disassembled, and each part soaked in acid, and manually cleaned. Unless your water is exceptionally hard (you should have a water softener inline with the machine in hard water areas) this should only need to be done every 5 years or so. Heads and screens and filters should be soaked every day in a cleaning solution available from any professional machine supplier. A machine that is not plumbed should have a small amount of Puly brand cleaner added to its tank, and run through several cycles every 3 months. Puly is available thru machine suppliers, but there are also several other brands that do the same. Visit your local coffee machine shop for a good cleaner.

Hope this may help;
