My Pearl TH1100A skips like a scratched cd. It worked fine for about a month and I had about 120 songs on it. Now it says I only have 33 and it plays every song like its skipping. When I put it in the drive my pc will not even recognize the device. This is my 2nd mp3 player in the past 2 months and I use It often. I got the pearl because I thought that RCA would be a reliable device. I've tried to plug it in and delete all of the music but it will not let me even access it. Im totally lost on this. Please help because if I cant get this up and running Im just outta luck. Thank You for ur help. Sc00ter

I also have a RCA Pearl TH1100A mp3 player that does the same thing. I had previously had about 97 songs and now it says I only have 18. I haven't connected it to my computer for three weeks, and it worked fine last night, but when I turned it on this morning, it was skipping and when I looked closer I noticed that most of my songs were missing. I tried hooking it back up to the computer, but it says that the device is corrupted and unreadable. I previously had another RCA mp3 player (EMUSIC1) that the same thing happened to...But my stepsister had shoved it into the back of my older computer and yanked it out again, which is what I'm pretty sure happened to that one. But since learning that lesson I've been extra careful to make sure I do the whole "remove device safely" thing so it wouldn't happen again. But I don't understand how this happened, when the most I've done in the past few weeks is change the battery....and I always make sure it's off when I do that. I've had it for less than three months and can't understand what could have gone wrong, unless maybe there's a flaw in some of RCA's players....I've noticed quite a few have had similar issues.

All the mp3s on my computer play at a faster, higher pitch in Windows Media 11 and Itunes. I can't figure it out. Going to try re-installing drivers for sound.

i think this happened to me because i just pulled it out of the usb drive without "safely removing it" now i have to clear it out and put them all back on again, they are all playing screwy.

Maybe the player that you are using is loading them this way. Check your playback options and see what speed that they are on.

Mp3 plays few seconds of song.

Do you mean it plays a few seconds then skips onto the next song? If that is the case then most likely you have "Intro" play set which only plays a few seconds as a introduction then skips to the next time.

To fix this, during music playback, press the [menu] button, then there should be an option there to change it from "Intro" to "NORMAL" instead.

Hope that helps.

Either the DB is corrupt of the license on the songs expired - make sure the music service is completely up to date. If it is, then go to RCA's website and get the latest firmware update.

Audiobook download

Playing Songs, Audiobooks, and Podcasts on iPod shuffle iPod shuffle allows you to play your audio files in a couple different ways—you can play songs, audiobooks, and podcasts in the order in which they appear on your player, or let iPod shuffle work its namesake magic for you (that is, shuffle the files by playing them randomly).
Show Me How
If you want iPod shuffle to play audio files in the order in which they appear on the player, move the switch on the top of the iPod shuffle to the play in order (circular arrows) position. If you want iPod shuffle to play songs in random order, move the switch to the shuffle (crossed arrows) position.
ip02_playfnky_04_shuflebutton.gif This iPod Shuffle is set to shuffle.
To play music, an audiobook, or podcast, just press the Play/Pause button. To skip to the next song (or a different song if you're in shuffle mode, or a different chapter if you're listening to an audiobook or podcast), press the Next/Fast-forward button. To fast-forward through the audio, hold down the Next/Fast-forward button. To go back to the beginning of a song (or the previous chapter), press the Previous/Rewind button; press this button twice to go to the previous song or hold it down to rewind through the file.
To stop play, press the Play/Pause button during play. To turn off iPod shuffle, move the switch to the Off position (you shouldn't see green beneath the switch).
