Install xp in compaq presario c700

i have compaq presario c700 laptop. i wan tto install win xp on it. i have disable sata drive. the first step of windows has started but when it restarts the message come NTDLR is missing . help me what i do.
plz mail me the solution .thanx in advance.

i have able to solve all the probleum except one probleum that when i am using function key and pressing volume key to increase or decrease or mute its not workong please help me sir

After disble sata native obtion Windows XP was install but after that any Drivers like video, sound etc. does not install on compaq presario C700 laptop. Pls help me for that. I am computer reseller.

u hv to go to bios, and change sata hard disk setting, it will solve the problem

Go into the BIOS setup (press f10 during boot process), System configuration and disable SATA Native Support. Try installing XP again and it should see your hard drive.

The problem is that the drive is a SATA drive. Windows XP has a limited selection of SATA drivers. You have to go to the HP website, download the driver and create a floppy disk with the installation. THEN you have to find someone wiht an external floppy so that the drivers might be loaded during installation (you have to click on F6 at the beggining of windows XP installation).

OR you could slipstream your drivers into a Windows XP disc of your creation. Google "Slipstream SATA drivers on Windows XP" for instructions.

thanks i have solved the probelm. my new problem now is that it would not play on external speakers. It would play with its built in speakers though, but when you try to connect it with external ones, to have it atleast an audible sound to my audiences, it will not make any sound. please help.

Go in to System Setup (F9 I think) and find the SATA Native setting and set it to 'disabled'.

This solved my problem. I disabled sata native mode in bios. But my internal audio is not working. Please anybody provide me the link where I can download Universal Audio Architecture(UAA) & Audio drivers for Presario C700 laptop.

it shouldve already had the os installed.
try cold starting the pc and pressing f11 to see if will reinstall from the recovery partition(if it has one)
if not call the manufacture and act stupid. tell them you came home hit the power button and this is whats happening

While the System is booting up , press F10 button .It takes you to BIOS Settings Page . There by pressing the right Arrow Key Go to System Configuration Settings . Browse down to SATA Drive . by Default it is found to be Enabled . Click on Enter , you find two options "Enabled /Disabled" . Select Disabled .
Press F10 ( which means Save and Exit ) ..

And enjoy .. Hope this resolves as it did for me .

I am having the solution,
Pls find the SCSI drivers from your driver cd and than customize the xp
and add the drivers of the same. you can use nlite software for the same.

I fixed this problem by disabling the native sata support in the BIOS and googling and downloading the hardware drivers.

I found the solution

IN the bios, disable SATA Native Support under the System Configuration chapter

then you can install XP

anybody plz help me ... am having compaq presario c700 but dont have avudio and graphics driver's plz give me link to download the same...

use nlite to make a custom copy of win xp and load the sata drivers from hp website into the setup file worked for me
