Question about Samsung Digimax S630 Digital Camera

Battery Killer Every time I try to use my Samsung s630, the battery in the camera dies in seconds. I tried to change the battery type, but the camera never makes it that far with any batter type (alkaline or rechargeable). Is this a lost hope?

Within a week of beginning to use the camera, we started receiving low battery messages, even when using batteries known to be charged. We've tried high power ordinary batteries and brand new charged rechargeable batteries with the same results.

I just bought a Samsung s630 and I went through 4 new batteries in 20 minutes. I am returning this camery as i have checked reviews on this cam and found that alot of other consumers are having the same issue with this cam. If you have one on thes cams and you are having the same problem I recommend you return yours as well if you still can. Other wise I suggest you buy stocks in Duracell as you will be buying alot of batteries.

When I got my s630 at first it went through batteries like crazy. Than I changed the battery type, like you did, only, mine started working just fine. I would try contacting Samsung on their website, and if your still in warranty, if it is a technical problem, they will replace your camera, or at least fix it. It's worth a shot, I guess.

Samsung S630 camera says "low battery" then shuts off

This camera needs rechargeable batteries usually lasts about a week with much use. I thought what a waste of batteries then tried these rechargable and the situation hasn't occured . it is probably because it is small digtal camera which uses alot of power.

You might want to try cleaning the battery contacts in the camera. I usually use a q-tip and rubbing alcohol (not too much, just moisten the tip a little). After doing so, blow in to the camera a couple of times to remove any leftover q-tip fibers and/or alcohol. This happens to me all of the time - the contacts can get a little corrosion/patina on them (even new after manufacturing and storage) that is hardly visible. Good luck.

S630 lens out and wont turn on

Cameras belonging to the S Series really do have a battery type option that needs to be set up first for proper power connection.

Recommended batteries are just:
- Alkaline (Non-rechargeable)
- Nickel-metal Hydride (Rechargeable)

Just the proper battery type by:

- Pressing MENU/OK button
- Scroll to the right until you are in SETUP 2
- Keep on scrolling down and look for battery type
- Press the right button to pick up on 2 options
like Alkaline and Ni-MH
- Press MENU/OK for changes to be saved
- Keep pressing MENU/OK to get out of the MENU

Once, it's done, camera needs to be turned off for a few seconds
so that settings made will be refreshed with the camera.

As you turn camera on, you're now ready to take many pictures.

ALKALINE (Non-rechargeable) batteries when set to the correct battery type will really take a maximum of 100 pictures.

For the Rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH), when those are fully charged, and the battery type is set to Ni-MH, it will be taking more than a hundred of course.

I hope this help you a lot.

the 3 beeping sound as ou call it annoying means that the camera has low battery capacity. the lens is stuck out because there is incorrect battery connection. there is an option on the camera setting for the battery type. try this one:
-turn the camera on
-click on Menu button
-select options using left/right, up/down button
-select Set up 2
-Select Battery type
-Select Alkaline for non-rechargable
or Ni-MH for rechargable
-click OK button

this setting should be done when using camera for the first time and whenever you are switching battery types, from rechargable to non-rechargable and vice versa.

Samsung S630 date gets reset while changing the batteries

It is really NORMAL that the date will be reset to the Manufacturer's date whenever you are changing batteries.

For you not to keep on changing the date and time of your camera, use Rechargeable batteries for a longer battery life span but make sure that you will be setting the battery type of your camera for the Rechargeable ones.

To set the correct battery type.
- Press on MENU button
- Press on the right button until you see SETUP 2
- Scroll down until you see BATTERY TYPE
- Select ALKALINE if you're using NON-RECHARGEABLE
- Select Ni-MH if you're using RECHARGEABLE
- Press on OK/MENU button for changes to be saved

Turn off camera after the settings
have been changed to refresh the camera.
