You can adjust the CONTRAST setting on the GPSr unit. This should help.

What are the examples of attribute data that you will find on a topographic map

What maps, what device and what company. They all make significant difference to your answer. In general, Topo maps indicate topography... that is where things are high and where they are low, gentle and steep changes in the land. often these are for hiking so some maps will have trails, some will have national forests or parks, others will have roads and points of interest like gas and groceries as well.

Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT, after entering a state, then attempting to "spell City" after entering city, and touching "done" unit indicates, "no matches found". For example, Minnesota, Minneapolis, unit...

Is the map turned on? At the main menu, press the system tools icon and press the map icon. Then press the map info button.

What does it say? Does a map show up and is there a checkmark in the box next to the map description? Also, if the map is for a certain area, say lower 49 states, SW, well you won't be able to find a city in the NE because the map is only showing a limited area. If you have ample memory on the unit or have a 2GB or larger SD card, installing the full US & Canada map is the way to go. Make sure the map installed on the unit covers where you are and where you may be going.

How to input an address that is in France?

Many Garmin units have a menu item that shows a list of installed maps. The main map is usually located on the GPS's internal memory. Any additional is likely found on the SD card.
When you access the menu / setup and choose maps, you will see both maps. Make sure that you uncheck the map in the main memory (USA perhaps?) and check the map that holds the area you wish to use (Europe?).
When you view the maps on the GPS next time, you should see the maps for the selected area and be prompted for locations that make sense for that area. Simply reverse the steps above to get back to the main internal maps when you return.
I hope this helps!

Garmin Nuvi 660 map is lagging behind position

Sounds more like a problem for garmin, but here are a couple of maybe suggestions. Go into the settings menu and see what is displayed IE rest areas, gas stations, restaurants, things like that, the more "things" you get out of the display the faster the units response time will be, it also sounds like you might have loaded the wrong screen size onto the unit when you upgraded the software however that i can't say one way or the other on. Final note the more things that the display has to show you the slower the unit is. Hope this helps

I just reloaded maps on my Tomtom but I am getting the message'' Waiting fora valid Gps signal regards charlie

That just means that your not in good range of the satellite that the TomTom uses. Think of it like cell phone reception. Try waiting a few minutes or going to a different area. I have the same problem because I live in a forested area, but when I leave and go into town, I'll get a signal.

Micro sd card not showing up on the gps

Have you got GB Discoverer on the card? The map should appear on the Map Information list in the Setup > Map area. Double check the placement of the map card. Also, in case you have not found it yet, there's wealth of information on the Oregon Wiki here:

I am trying to put into my garmin nuvi 350 2 national parks.

The GPS does not recognize national parks. You have to enter it manually or zoom out and run your finger across the map to the area and save that way.

NUVI 250W compared to the C330 streetpilot

Are both units set to the same level of detail in the map options?

It is possible to choose the level of detail displayed on the maps. Look at your map settings in the setup menu to increase the map detail.

The level of detail may also be different if both models are not set to the same map scale. The more you zoom in, the more detail you see.
