I just purchased a new Samson Airline 77....

I just purchased a new Samson Airline 77. I think I contected everything correctly, but the mic is not working. The box didn't have an owners mannuel in it. The power light turns on but I'm getting nothing from the equilizer. I turn on the transitter and nothing is happening. Does the transmitter need a battery?
