How about if you boot with just the battery in? Does the battery charge? Possible solution include: remove and replace memory chips to make sure they are seated correctly. Check with a known good power supply. Almost sounds like a motherboard issue to me. Plenty of laptop problems are related to bad solder joints on the motherboard, unless you or someone you know can open it up and find a bad joint the only solution is mother board replacement. Try reseating the memory first.
