Is the unit still under warranty?

If it is, opening the unit will void it.

But either way you can take it to a repair center and have them open the box and fish out the nickel. Or you can do so yourself....

- I'll also add that attempting to shake it out may damage the unit...opening it up and taking out the coin is really the only option. You're just left with making the choice of taking it in or doing it on your own.

if you have no idea about opening your ps3 or just dont know about electronics, then take it in to a repair shop and have it professionally done, NEVER do it yourself,you may damage your ps3 console. good luck!
