Computer stopped recognizing speakers (by 2 users)

My computer stopped recognizing these speakers for no apparent reason...the volume control no longer appears in my toolbar, and the Control Panel shows no speakers connected. I have tried reconnecting them as well as restarting the computer to no avail. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have the same problem.

polk speakers do not work with vista windows-how do i find a driver to reinstall them? we do not have a disk -thanks

This is due to your Drivers for your sound device are unavailable plz make sure that you have installed all your audio devices driver! try to reinstall it! it will help you
