Re: wont download

Try repairing the unit with the Device Manager software on the product CD.

Trouble downloading music

Try directly copying the songs from your music folder to the music folder on your Mp3 player.

I cant get music

Music - the newer Philips players do not support DRM-protected files. You will have to use songs that are in Mp3 format, or songs that are non-protected WMA's (NOTE: non-protected WMA's generally are only converted from CD's you own. I don't know of any music services that use them).

Video - the installation CD should have come with a program called the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter. If you have lost your installation CD, you can acquire this program from the Philips website. The program must be used to convert and transfer videos to your Philips.

I recently deleted all music off my mp3 and now it wont allow me to sync any music to it what is it's problem? any body know whats wrong

low and brandon - you have two completely different problems.

lowgasm - IF you used Windows Explorer to delete the songs, you may have deleted the music DB file along with it - attempt a Repair in Philips Device Manager and see if it will sync after you are done. If Repair fails, that player is toast - get an in-warranty replacement from Philips.

brandon -
The songs that you are playing are either in AAC (iTunes) format - which is not supported by the player - or they are DRM-encrypted. If you really do have an SA6045, the player can definitely handle DRM encrypted-WMA's. If you have a newer Philips - different model # - then the player may not support DRM-encrypted files. The best thing to do is to download songs (or convert songs from CD as the other helper suggested) that are in pure mp3 format. Examples of services that do this are Rhapsody's Mp3-only Subscription (other Rhapsody subscriptions are DRM-encrypted, which will not work); or Limewire (make sure the format you are downloading is mp3 and not something else).

Will not sync some mp3 songs to go gear and answers

The bit rate or sampling rate of those mp3's may be too high - go into Windows Media Player (or use a free tool like Media Monkey to convert them).

Sync with media player

First, get a music service other than Rhapsody.
Second, disable auto-sync in Windows Media Player - the details for doing this can be found in the FAQ section of Philips website.

My Phillips Go Gear 8GB MP3 player wont sync music

Windows Media Player 11 ruins this player. Uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and roll back to Windows Media Player 10. Then use version 10 to sync songs to your device.

Save music

All Philips Go Gear prefer specific music players, Like yahoo Jukebox. If your player did not come with a disk, I would suggest downloading the Jukebox player and then pluging in our player.

Yahoo will find your player and sync all your music..

Wont download

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
