Question about Sceptre X7G-Naga 17" LCD Monitor
My monitor is acting really funny. It works perfectly except when i try to alt-tab or close out of a game. It then blinks on and off for a while progressively having longer intervals until it stops completely.
It is really just more annoying than anything. I have no idea what's wrong with it and the only time it happens is right after closing out of a game : /.
i fixed this problem by unplugging the monitor, unplugging the video cables. Then hold down the power button while plugging it back in. Release power button and then press power button for on. It worked then. I got the icon for no signal, i plugged back in my monitors. Sceptre X9W

Something has failed or is failing in the monitor. It may be serviceable, but may not be cost effective to do so unless something has just come loose. I'm assuming you have no problems with the new monitor. Your time line is a little confusing.

I am working on one of these for a customer. Found leaky cap on 5 volt power supply. replaced it, still no backlight. Looked at the inverter with an o-scope and it runs for a few seconds then shuts off. I hooked a ccfl across each of the transformer secondaries on the inverter and it lit up! I believe the problem is failed ccfl units. There is plenty of voltage there to light them up, I have an rf burn on my thumb to show for it. I have not looked at the ease of dis-assembly of the display to replace the backlights. It does not look easy.
