Re: jensen 9410

Try plugging in the rca's to an alternate source to make sure your rear surround is plugged into the right place. (ie not the sub out on your receiver)

Then make sure you have all low pass filters turned off on your amp.

Last thing to check is to take a mp3player or something and get a headphone to rca adapter and plug it in direct to the amp to make sure the amp is working properly by itself.

good luck

Ouku single din no sound from rca cables

Sorry I did not use the video out RCA cables. My audio RCA cables worked fine... I ran them to my JBL amplifier through a conversion adapter. I did not run it direct to the amp.. I used Metra TYTO-01 03-08 Toyota Vehicles Harness for JBL SYS (Ebay item 160560648718) and it worked great.

Here is the wiring color coding that I found online:

On my recently installed Jensen VM9414, while playing a DVD, I can clearly hear the background noise/music, but I cannot hear the characters voices. I thought maybe it was the setup but have tried...

I've had this problem before, but not on this specific head unit. You most likely have your audio setup to 5.1 or other surround format, yet have nothing hooked up to the center channel output of the head unit.
Unless you've currently hooked up the center channel to an amplified speaker, or gotten out of a surround mode, you're not going to hear anything.

If you do have everything hooked up right and are sure the settings are correct, possibly a blown amp in the head unit.

Have one wire for audio sub out, but two input ports to amp

This one Wire should be for the +. Try connecting the + to the Head Unit and - to a Common Ground. At the Worst, You will Blow the Amp Fuse if not Correct. The Lead from the Head Unit is Only an Off and On from the Ignition. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

Jensen uv8 and amp hook up

Remote wire from Jensen is blue or blue/white. Use Blu/white if there is one. . RCA's, for subs, use the rear if no subwoofer pre-outs are available. If unit has sub pre-uts, use them as the head ubit (stereo) would have a level that can be raised or lowered thus giving you more control over the input to the sub amp.

Sub output

With RCA cables. Just plug into the preamp outputs on the back that are labeled for "subwoofer" and run them to your amp. In your on-screen EQ, you'll have a separate adjustment for the sub (which adjusts that set of preouts, without affecting the tone in the rest of the speakers).

Best method for connecting rear speakers yourself

The other wires in the back by the speakers are NOT speaker wires. It is possible to cause a short circuit in your car and or damage your unit by hooking up the wires from stereo to non speaker wires. Smoke from the dash is never a good sign. Hopefully nothing is shorted. These are the correct wire diagrams for your car. Hook them up just as described and you will have sound in no time:) If there is no sound check all fuses. Hope this helps.......Let me know what happens.......GOOD LUCK

Left rear (+) is Brown wire. Connect that with the Green wire.
Left rear (--) is Yellow wire. Connect that with the Green/Black wire
Right rear (+) is Dark Blue wire. Connect that with the Purple wire
Right rear (--) is Light Blue wire. Connect that with the Purple/Black wire.

I dont get any sound

Many vehicles have factory amplifiers that must be activated or bypassed when installing a replacement head unit. If the factory amplifier isn't integrated or bypassed, you won't hear sound from the factory speaker locations. Another possibility is that you have a shorted or pinched speaker wire or terminal. A short at any speaker will shut down the head unit's internal amp, killing the sound to all the speakers. The RCA outputs wouldn't be affected, so the subwoofer keeps playing.
