Question about GN Netcom GN 9330 Wireless Headset

Headset not working

It seems that the headset on my 9330 stopped communicating with the base so I can no longer use the headset. Has anyone else had this problem before and is it an easy fix?

    The headset to my 9330 stopped communicating yesterday (12-19-07) I was on a telecomm and set the headset on my desk for about a half hour; when I returned and tried to make a call it was dead. My desk set functions and three of the four lights on the base are lit (the far right one is not)

    Is there a troubleshooting guide that will help or does someone have a solution?

Sounds like your headset isn't paired with its base. With the headset in the cradle press and hold the button on the left side of the base that has two arrows on it. You should see the blue light on your headset turn on. Its now paired to the base.

If that doesn't work, remove the battery from the headset. (This is the back piece of the headset.) Wait a few seconds and then snap it back on to your headset.

No dial tone through the headset


Hi, I wasn't getting any dial tone through the GN9330, using the headset port on an iQ750. I finally found a headset polarity switch on the bottom of the phone. I changed it from "V" to "P" and fixed the problem.

How do I unmute my Jabra GN 9330? It has the red "lips" lit up at the bottom of the base.


You have the small switch on to off the ear piece that you use to adjust the volume, this also controls the mute function, just press the little blck switch in. That should un mute it.

It sounds like you have a communication problem between headset and base. This link of the user guide can walk you through some things you can do to make it better, especially page 5 (powering headset on / off, compatibility) and page 6 (pairing).

It sounds like the battery is no longer holding a good charge. There is no replacement battery for this headset. If you are using the original 510 headset you can replace it or pair a different bluetooth headset up to the 500A base. Just keep in mind if you decide on a different style of headset you will not be able to charge it in your base. I have included the link for the 510 replacement headset below.

Your solution will depend on what type of phone and headset you have. I have a Polycom 501 IP phone with a headset jack and a GN Netcom 9125. I'm not using the lifter right now, but I seem to recall that an easy way to make it work was to plug the curly cord of the phone's handset into the bottom of the base unit, so that the cord went from the base of the headset to the headset jack on the base of the phone.

The charging lights come on when the headset is placed on the stand then go out immediately. I put in a new battery but same problem. The headset is not working.


Seeing as you already ruled out a bad battery, it sounds like the unit has gone on you, GN Netcom does offer a full one year warranty on their wireless products, I would recommend calling your distributor, and seeing if you fall within the replacement range.

Hi I was in a live session with you when you left. Apparently you have not paired the headset with the base. All you have to do is follow this procedure
Place the headset in the charging base->Press the base's pairing button->Both the telephone and USB buttons on the base until the headset's link indicator will light for 2 seconds indicating that the pairing is successful. It should probabl charge after this.

Base unit cuts out and resets by unpluging and pluging in.


It sounds like your handset's battery is failing on you. How old is it? If it is more than a year or 2 old, you might want to replace it.
