My tv turns on, but there is no picture or sound. It makes whistling and clicking noises. How do I fix it?

This television has had a problem with component failure. You will need to take this television in to a service center for testing and repair. You can reach Magnavox customer service at this telephone number. 1-800-705-2000. Give them the model number of the television and the problem you are having with the failure of the picture and sound. They will be able to tell you how you can get your television tested and serviced. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

TV Making a Loud Noise

this can happen with the flyback transformer's brightness which can be adjusted , also the power transformer can make humming or buzzing sounds which can't be adjusted , also this can happen with the picture tube or the CRT board failing , and sometimes chips with heat sinks or the IC's themselfs

Strange colours on television

What do you mean by 'strange colors'? Is it colour patches at the corners and edges of the picture? If that is the case, it is asimple case of Degaussing or Demagnetisation. You need to do nothing, The internal degaussing circuits will sort out the problem over the next 2-3 days. Just make sure you have not placed any equipment with magnets or any magnetic source near your Tv (Speakers, Boob Boxes, Walkie Talkies, etc.

Non-HD picture issues

Sounds like you may have something generating interference, such as a bad cable shield on maybe a ground connection inside your tv. You might try moving the cables while watching the screen and see if the pattern changes. Double pictures on a screen can be caused by "ghosts", which means that you're getting two signals--- one slightly behind the other. Anything oscillating generating a radio frequency may radiate into your circuits causing this strange problem. Stargazer

RCA Guideplus Gold Television

I would guess the popping/cracking goes away when the picture is present. Sounds like a high voltage arc either withing the tube or due to a cracked component in the high voltage circuit. If it's the tube, then the question is: how old is the set and is it worth it to sink $$$ into it as opposed to putting the same into another unit. If it is a defective component, that's much easier/cheaper to repair. Again, age of the set, etc. I hope this helps; definitly a repair for a pro.

Green Lines Horizontally

yeppers its a g2 control on the flyback thats gone or drifted out of alighnment or the flyback its self.Try turning the g2 control dowm till those lines fade. If they wont go away then you need someone to check the Picture tube or its componets driving the crt.
