My Brother HL-2070N printer won't print Web page

In January 2011 Brother update its drivers for your printer due to a compatibility problem. You haven't advised what operating system you're using but you apparently need to update your drivers.

If you are running Windows 7, you will have to update the drivers either from Microsoft Update or Brother. Click on this link for Brother.

Installed HP deskjet 890c printer to new windows 7 laptop - purchased new usb printer cable - will not print from laptop but will print test page from printer

Before we conclude that cable is faulty, we have few things that need to be checked.

  • In the device manager check for "Other Devices" and expand it, you may see an device with exclamation sign on it. Right click and uninstall the device.
  • Disconnect the printer USB and reconnect it back.
  • Windows 7 detects the hardware and automatically installs the correct driver.
Note: When you connect the USB cable to the printer, and then to the computer, Windows 7 activates Windows Update. Windows Update searches online for the most recent product driver on the Windows Update site. If the online driver is more recent than the driver stored in Windows 7, the computer downloads and installs the updated driver. The Windows Update process takes place automatically. Therefore, you might not notice that the process is in progress.
If you dont see any notification on connecting the printer, try plugging to different USB port.
If non if these works, replace the cable.
Good Luck!!

After updating to IE9, my printer won't print in grayscale, only color, why?

are you trying to print grayscale copy of the broswer or webpage? or grayscale from word document?

if you are trying to print grayscale from webpage or email, check the version of you IE 9 if it is BETA version or the complete version. It might have something to do with it.

Try using mozilla firefox browser or google chrome as work around.

The printer will not print it is saying i need to run windows xp spz.

> SPZ Not quite. It is "ESS-****-TWO". Access: Do a "custom" scan. When it completes, Windows Update will offer "Service Pack 2 (two)" or "Service Pack 3 (three)" as an update. Allow it to download and install that update. Restart, and reaccess the web-site, and there will more updates. Then, try again to print.

Am unable to print emails only prints footer details when i ask to see preview only prints date etc on bottom line

If you are using Microsoft Outlook, there is a problem with printing emails when you upgrade to Internet Explorer 8. You will have to update your system with the latest updates, especially Internet Explorer and MS Office / Outlook.
Go to Windows Update, select to upgrade to Microsoft Update, and install all the critical updates you will be presented with. As some updates need to be installed separately, you will have to come back to Microsoft Update as many times as it takes to install all the critical updates.

If however you are using a different e-mail program or system (like many online ones, Gmail for example) you will have to provide more details in order to be helped.

I have a laserjet 4L (running XP SP3 and Office 7 SP2) and having problems printing - error message on the tool bar says 'document failed to print'. I have tryed restarting and unplugging the unit and...

Dear Mark, You do not need to upgrade driver but you should reset your data cable even it is parallel. After pluged again you should take a reboot and then try to print again.

Good Luck
