You don't. At least you don't normally need to. There are two spring clips that hold the top on and you have to release these to raise it up. They are located about three inches from each corner in the front. UNPLUG WASHER FIRST!!!!! Take a flat screw driver and GENTLY ease it between the top and front panel and look in the crack. You should see a flat piece of metal sticking up into the top. Use your screwdriver to push this back until it releases the top. Do the same thing on the other side and the top should lift up and back.
Now, why do you want to get inside it?
